𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐭𝐢𝐥 𝐞𝐧 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐭𝐢𝐠 𝐀𝐀𝐔’𝐞𝐫 Når februar bliver til marts, sættes det foreløbigt sidste punktum i et stærkt og godt parløb mellem professor og institutleder Lasse Rosendahl og Aalborg Universitet: 1. marts rykker Lasse Rosendahl til Novo Nordisk Foundation CO₂ Research Center (CORC) ved Aarhus Universitet, hvor han skal være direktør. Lasse Rosendahls historie på Aalborg Universitet går tilbage til 1980erne og rummer bl.a. en PhD i Mechanical Engineering, mere end 17 år som professor og gennem de sidste fem år en sikker hånd på rattet som institutleder for de verdensførende forskningsmiljøer og uddannelserne på AAU Energy. Torsdag d. 27. februar kl. 14 bliver der lejlighed til at sige farvel til kollegaen, lederen og vennen Lasse Rosendahl, når Det Ingeniør- og Naturvidenskabelige Fakultet inviterer til afskedsreception i AAU Innovate, Thomas Manns Vej 25. 2024 was 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐥𝐥-𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 where we supported 9 new spin-outs from Aalborg University 🫱🏻🫲🏼 We are proud to announce that in 2024, we supported a record-breaking 9 spin-outs from AAU as part of our work in transforming groundbreaking research to into innovative solutions for the benefit of society. 7 of the spin-outs originated from the Faculty of ENGINEERING, Aalborg University, underlining AAU’s top ranking as one of the best engineering universities in Europe: "We’re extremely proud to be part of a record-breaking 2024 with 9 new spin-outs established at Aalborg University of which 7 were from the Faculty of Engineering – and an impressive 5 of them originated from AAU Energy. Innovation has been a strategic priority at AAU Energy for years, and therefore, it truly pleases me to see this progress. By transforming our research into real-world solutions, we’re not only driving groundbreaking technological advancements; we’re also contributing to the green transition and economic growth of Denmark”, says Lasse Rosendahl, Head of Department at AAU Energy. Flydende havvind er allerede godt på vej flere steder, men en vigtig brik mangler stadig: Hvordan gør vi transformerstationerne flydende? 🌊 Mohsen Soltani har sammen med sin forskningsgruppe, Offshore Renewable Energy Systems, arbejdet på projektet FOSS – Floating Offshore SubStation – som har haft målet at gøre havvind tilgængeligt også på de store dybder. Og der er et enormt potentiale: Op mod 80 % af verdens offshore vindressourcer findes faktisk på havdybder over 60 meter, hvor traditionelle fundamenter ikke kan bruges. Det er netop dén udfordring, partnerne bag FOSS har kastet sig over. 💡 Med støtte fra EUDP - Det Energiteknologiske Udviklings- og Demonstrationsprogram har Semco Maritime, ISC Rådgivende Ingeniører, Inocean, Aalborg University og Energy Cluster Denmark i 20 måneder arbejdet på at udvikle et banebrydende konceptuelt design for en flydende transformerstation. Fokusområderne er: 🟢 Den flydende struktur 🟢 Topside og layout af komponenter 🟢 Elektrisk design 🟢 Kabelhåndtering og fortøjningslinjer Målet? At gøre det muligt at udnytte endnu flere vindressourcer og producere grøn strøm – også på store vanddybder 🌍💨 Sådan kan døren åbnes til at gøre langt flere havvindområder kommercielt attraktive. RelyPES has revolutionized risk assessment in modern power systems by replacing traditional, time-consuming methods with a fast and accurate approach, ensuring efficient and reliable system design and operation.
Meet Postdoc Seyed Amir Hosseini from AAU Energy - one out of currently eight recipients of the Spin-outs Denmark grant at Aalborg University 🫱🏻🫲🏼 With the Spin-outs Denmark grant, Seyed aims to further mature the project 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐲𝐏𝐄𝐒: 𝘈 𝘙𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘙𝘪𝘴𝘬 𝘈𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘚𝘰𝘧𝘵𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘛𝘰𝘰𝘭 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘗𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘌𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘨𝘺 𝘚𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘴 and pave the way for the future commercialization. RelyPES is a software tool developed to optimize the design and operation of power systems and equipment. It introduces a breakthrough in modern power system risk assessment, with a particular focus on 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐜𝐲 analysis. By providing a significantly 𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 approach, RelyPES overcomes the limitations of traditional, time-consuming methodologies. By using this tool, power and energy companies, as well as private-sector organizations worldwide, can achieve a more reliable design and operation of power systems, enhancing energy adequacy by up to 15% and reducing operational costs by as much as 20%.
