🌐 Further Progress on the "Learning for All" Project! 🌐 On 7th October 2024, we held an engaging online partner meeting for the Learning for all PROJECT, which is dedicated to enhancing inclusive adult education across Europe. Our committed partners from European E-Learning Institute, Momentum Educate + Innovate, Folkuniversitetet, Rinova and DIMITRA Education & Consulting SA discussed our collective aims and objectives. During the meeting, we covered key areas, including: 🔍 WP2 – Participatory Evaluation: We are on track for the translated versions of our Digital Benchmarking Tool. This tool will empower decision-makers to assess their practices and develop tailored action plans in response to demographic changes. 🤝 WP3 – Community Outreach: We discussed the ongoing development of the Community Outreach Toolkit which will serve as a comprehensive resource to promote inclusive practices and ensure that education is accessible to all members of the community. 🎓 WP4 – Capacity Building: Anthony Carty presented the draft agenda for our upcoming Capacity Building Workshop in Leitrim, scheduled for 12th-13th November. This workshop will play a vital role in advancing our goal of upskilling staff through the Learning for All Online Course. The "Learning for All" project is committed to bridging the gap between inclusion policies and practical implementation, particularly for migrants and refugees. Together with our partners we are making significant strides in achieving our shared objectives. Delighted to start working on our #KeyAction2 #EUProject #UPLIFTEU yesterday. I am looking forward to working with my Technological University of the Shannon colleague Tony Johnston alongside Laura Magan from Momentum Educate + Innovate, Tanja Abarca Kokol from Vocational College of Hospitality and Tourism Maribor, Puriene Vilma Monika Grinevičiūtė and Lina Pečiūrė from VILNIUS TECH - Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, Vera Vilhjálmsdóttir and Guðrún Þóra Gunnarsdóttir from Háskólinn á Akureyri and finally Kathryn O'Brien from the European E-Learning Institute delivering the keys of this fascinating project! #UPLIFTEU will innovate and sustain the European film and literary tourism sector by implementing extended reality skills for those in VET by integrating immersive tourism practices into VET curricula, promoting VR/AR/AI readiness for SME’s. We will directly train 20+ targeted stakeholders, involve 100+ VET students, educators, and professionals, and reach over 1000 individuals through digital platforms, ensuring 150+ future tourism leaders are equipped with skills in immersive technology. Momentum Educate + Innovate had the pleasure of speaking with Funke Egberongbe, a Nigerian entrepreneur based in Ireland who has turned her love of cooking into a thriving business. Funke's journey began as a refugee, cooking in the hostel where she stayed. Over time, she turned her passion for food into Funke—Afro Caribbean Restaurant, now employing seven people, including her husband. With a background in food science and business management, Funke started by cooking for friends at home, eventually launching her restaurant. The biggest challenges were finding a suitable location and overcoming skepticism as an immigrant. Support from business courses, mentorship, and local organizations like Sligo LEADER helped her push through. Her cooking shows authenticity, gaining customer trust with genuine Afro-Caribbean flavors. Funke plans to expand her restaurant, grow her sauce line, and explore consultancy to guide other immigrants in business. I'm thrilled to share glimpses from our recent trip to Izmir, Turkey, for the EARTH Project's second Transnational Meeting! 🌍✈️ At the beautiful Ege University campus, we united with partners to advance our goal: enhancing the innovation management and digital skills of logistics students and managers through the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eUiFuD32 The EARTH Project prioritises SDGs to equip logistics professionals with the tools to address global challenges and drive innovation within the industry. Our partners from the Uniwersytet Szczeciński, AILOG - Associazione Italiana di Logistica e di Supply Chain Management, Momentum Educate + Innovate, FH Münster, Ege University, and the Polish Technology Advancement Society are committed to integrating sustainability into logistics education and practices. 📚 What's in motion: - Real-life Case Studies (WP2) - Showcasing sustainable innovations in logistics. - Educational Framework & Open Education Resources (WP3) - Structured resources to advance sustainability goals. - Online Benchmarking Tool (WP4) - Enabling companies to evaluate and enhance their sustainability efforts. 📈 This meeting focused on finalizing WP2, advancing WP3, and planning for WP4, alongside discussions on dissemination, quality management, and project management. 🚀 AI Leaders Project: Second Transnational Project Meeting in Barcelona 🚀 This past week, I had the pleasure of attending our second Transnational Project Meeting for the AI Leaders project at UPF Barcelona School of Management. It was an inspiring session packed with productive discussions and meaningful collaboration—all with the stunning backdrop of Barcelona, including a great view from UPF-BSM's rooftop! 🌞 The AI Leaders project is dedicated to improving AI education by promoting both the ethical and applied use of AI in business and management. Our goal is to prepare future business leaders to responsibly develop and apply AI solutions that align with European values and ethical standards, creating a highly skilled workforce ready to navigate the evolving world of AI. Throughout the meeting, we reviewed our progress across different activities and discussed the next steps for the project. It was a pleasure to be joined by our partners: ACEEU, Universidade do Porto and Feltech Software. Representing the European E-Learning Institute, Catherine Neill and I had the opportunity to share updates and insights, further solidifying the path forward for our collaborative efforts in AI education. Grateful for the teamwork and innovation that each partner brings to the table!
