There’s something about meeting in person that video calls will never replace. At the start of the year, the entire Exo360 team flew to Stockholm to meet with our Eurostars partners—Cubist, Spirotronic, Prototal | Sweden and Syddansk Universitet - University of Southern Denmark. While online meetings have been essential to our collaboration over the past year, nothing compares to the energy of two days spent brainstorming, strategising, and tackling challenges together in the same room. Decisions that once felt stuck suddenly became clear, pushing the development of the Exo360®DFU - our joint innovation for treating Diabetic Foot Ulcers - forward in ways that wouldn’t have been possible remotely. Thank you to Cubist and Spirotronic for hosting the workshops. Excited for what lies ahead! 🚀 We’ll be sharing so much more information on the Exo360®DFU soon. 👀

The Danish Tech Challenge at DTU Science Park became the launchpad for our journey in 2021. 🚀 When we entered, we had little more than an idea, but the program equipped us with the tools and knowledge to build a company and not just a product. It gave us a deep understanding of the key aspects of building a startup and introduced us to models and frameworks that we still rely on to stay organised and focused today. Most importantly, we connected with a community of other incredible startups and inspiring individuals - many of whom have become great friends and mentors along the way. While it wasn’t quite our ‘92 Euros moment (in the end Simplewire deservedly took the top spot 🙌) we’re incredibly grateful for the experience. We highly recommend the Danish Tech Challenge to any startup looking to accelerate their growth and make meaningful strides in just a few months. Shoutout to Aerial Tools ApS, StaySeat ApS, Kombo Audio, Sincere Aqua, WOHN A/S, Sensae, VenomAid Diagnostics, HEMBOO, StepUp Horse, GRIPWIQ and all the others. Men ambitionerne rækker langt længere. "Vi håber på at blive den nye guldstandard inden for traumebehandling inden for de næste 10 år," fortæller Mads Terndrup. On October 24th, three of the leading Danish AM start-ups will present themselves and their ideas in our big pitch competition. They will pitch in front of 1000 Summit guests and a jury with members from Danish AM Hub , AM Ventures, and Formnext - Where ideas take shape. The winner will be sent to an exclusive pitch event at Formnext – the largest AM event and exhibition in the world. Along with 12 other amazing start-ups, the three nominees have been a part of AM Growth 2024, where the companies have been nurtured and guided from idea to strong products and commercial focus. 🚀 We owe much of our success as a company to the foundation we built during the DTU Skylab Pilots program. It gave us the opportunity to form a key partnership with Prototal | Damvig and provided invaluable support at a time when we lacked the resources and experience to move forward on our own. Through Skylab hosted events, we also connected with our first employees, and the collaborative space allowed us to grow and innovate together. We are extremely grateful and highly recommend the program to any early-stage startup looking to accelerate their journey. 🙌 📽️ Watch the full mini-doc here to learn more about the story behind Exo360: https://lnkd.in/d_TFBJ-S

Through our successful collaboration with FORCE Technology, we have rigorously tested and proven the safety, resilience, and effectiveness of our metamaterials under various real-world conditions. This validation confirms our core technology and sets the foundation for CE marking, bringing us closer to revolutionising trauma care. 💪 Check out the full article 👇
𝗘𝘅𝗼𝟯𝟲𝟬 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘀 🦴 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 Exo360, co-founded by Mads Terndrup, MD PhD, has set out to modernise trauma care by replacing the ancient and outdated methods of treating broken bones. As a former orthopaedic surgeon, Mads saw firsthand the limitations of current non-surgical treatments. "We still rely on methods from the Crimean War era. Our mission is to create a cutting-edge solution to eliminate the need for unnecessary surgeries and elevate the quality of trauma care globally," he says. 🏥 The primary issue with traditional casting is that it doesn't adjust to the body's natural changes during healing. Swelling goes down, and casts become loose, leading to a higher risk of surgery. New research shows that for broken wrists, the cast loses its fit in about 48% of cases as swelling reduces, often resulting in the need for surgery. 💡 Exo360's breakthrough came with the development of elastomeric lattice metamaterials. They adapt to changes in swelling, providing continuous support to broken bones, which helps prevent the need for surgical intervention. The solution moves with the patient, ensuring optimal pressure on the fracture throughout the healing process. 🧪 Exo360 teamed up with us to ensure their material could withstand real-use conditions. The collaboration included consultancy on test protocols as well as running extensive tests on their product's mechanical and environmental durability, which is crucial for gaining medical device market entry. "FORCE Technology helped us validate what we believed but needed to prove—that our metamaterial is effective, resilient and safe. With the documentation we've gathered, we're ready to go through the process of securing CE marking, which is vital for market entry," Mads says. 📰 Go to full case story: https://lnkd.in/dkbehuBp
