𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐝𝐚𝐲: Congratulations to the seven winners of our pitch sessions and the winner of our Nordic Innovation Fair Poster Award 🏆 The seven winners were chosen from a field of 30 strong cases, where they did an extraordinary job pitching their business opportunities. I was happy to give the keynote speech at Nordic Innovation Fair today. As Mikkel Bülow Skovborg from the Novo Nordisk Foundation mentioned in his introductory words, The Nordic Innovation Fair is an important event that spurs innovation and facilitates fruitful connections and collaborations between Nordic scientists, international investors, and businesses. Thus, I used the occasion to highlight and praise the Danish and Nordic universities for establishing various initiatives, such as KU Lighthouse‎ at the University of Copenhagen (Københavns Universitet), DTU Skylab at the DTU - Technical University of Denmark, and The Kitchen - AU Erhverv og Innovation at Aarhus University. These initiatives are needed to spark an even stronger innovation culture and leverage the robust research environments that the Nordic countries represent to translate more science into technologies and products that can benefit society. At BioInnovation Institute, we depend on the research and innovation efforts at the universities and hospitals to succeed in our vision of supporting world-class life science innovation that drives the development of new solutions by early-stage life science start-ups for the benefit of people and society. Thus, we constantly seek to strengthen our position as a bridgebuilder between academia, industry and investors, and create the proper framework to enable scientists and innovators to take the leap and embark on an entrepreneurial journey. While many initiatives are put in motion, and more people are eager to take the entrepreneurial leap than previously, an event like the Nordic Innovation Fair is an excellent chance to keep pushing the boundaries of what we can achieve together if we collaborate as one united force. As our Minister of Higher Education and Science, Christina Egelund rightfully pointed out in her opening speech, we are currently faced with numerous complex challenges that are difficult to solve, but science and innovation are cornerstones in our Northern societies providing hope. Let us open our toolboxes together and work together in an optimistic spirit. Thanks to the universities and regions for organising Nordic Innovation Fair and to Novo Nordisk Foundation and Innovation Fund Denmark for sponsoring it.

International messe skal fremme innovation og iværksætteri Kan en dansk opfindelse, med svensk investering blive en god forretning i Norge? Der er kunstig intelligens, kvanteteknologi, sundhed og grøn teknologi på programmet, når eventet ”Nordic Innovation Fair” løber af stablen i disse dage. Her er forskere, virksomheder og investorer fra hele Norden samlet for at gå på opdagelse i forskningsprojekter fra de nordiske forskningsinstitutioner, hvor der er særligt gode potentialer for at omdanne forskning til iværksætteri. Uddannelses- og forskningsminister Christina Egelund var inviteret med for at holde en tale, hvor hun sagde: “I think we have some of the most complicated missions in human history. Climate change. Conflicts and geopolitical tension. Demographic shifts. Pressure on our liberal democracies. Our missions are numerous, global and complex. But at the same time, we also have more tools than ever before to solve problems. To fulfill our missions. We are witnessing some truly fantastical scientific and technological advancements. Climate technologies. Artificial intelligence. Quantum. New treatments, vaccines and cures.
