Topping-out ceremony for the building for LORC's new Main Bearing Test Facility 🏗 A new milestone has been reached in LORC's new Main Bearing Test Facility, as we could today participate in the topping-out ceremony for the building around the test load unit we are building for LORC. The new Main Bearing Test Facility will be the largest in the world, and it will take an extraordinary building to house such a big test bench. HPH Totalbyg A/S is building this extraordinary building, which, at 30 meters in height, will be one of the biggest testing workshops for wind turbines in Europe. "It is really impressive to get a sense of the sheer scale of LORC's new Main Bearing Test Facility, which will be their largest to date," says Peter Søgaard Winther. "Teddy Bear Toss" day at Bakken Bears 🧸🏀 Our Staff Social Club had arranged an eventful evening in the VIP area with delicious food, an exciting basketball match between the local Bakken Bears A/S and the league leaders, and, of course, the Teddy Bear Toss.    When the Bakken Bears team scored their first 3-pointer of the game, all 1200 people in the stands threw a teddy bear into the court. The teddy bears were then collected and donated to the charity Børnenes Kontor i Aaarhus, which helps children and their families in need.   At R&D Test Systems, we know that great teams are built not just at work but through shared experiences. After a successful testing period in close collaboration between ZF Group and R&D Test Systems, during which we tested 30 powertrains, we have now officially handed over the End-of-Line Test Rig for ZF Wind Power🤝✅   "The project has been carried out in close collaboration with the knowledgeable engineers at ZF and R&D Test Systems. We succeeded in meeting the customer's tight deadlines, and we are happy to hand over the final test rig to ZF Wind Power," says Nicolas Gjerlev Andersen, Vice President of Operations at R&D Test Systems.   End-of-line tests ensure the quality and performance of the final product by performing the final tests before the powertrain leaves the factory. To test and validate large main bearings, the new test bench will apply loads that simulate real-life wind conditions in an accelerated manner.   The test load unit that we are building for LORC’s new Main Bearing Test Facility will be the largest and most capable that R&D Test Systems has developed.   The test bench will be designed to test both geared and direct-drive main bearing arrangements, the two principal bearing systems for wind turbines.
