🎉 Time for celebration! I am very honored and excited to share that I was awarded the UCPH:BII Life Science Innovation Award 2024 for the work on our SAFE Patch Technology. Thank you to The Pipeline, UCPH and BioInnovation Institute for the award and for hosting an enlightening Innovation Day at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, UCPH. 🏆 I want to emphasize that this award belongs to the whole team as a recognition of their creativity, commitment, and hard work. I give special credits to Professor Hanne Mørck Nielsen and Associate Professor Natalja Genina for driving this innovative project forward with me for the past years, and I am excited to see what comes next. A great thanks goes to skolar Lixia Gu, Research assistant Caroline Rasmussen, PhD student Cristiana Cunha and former team member Leila Sayed-Tabatabaei for their contributions that are instrumental in driving our research forward. A special acknowledgement goes to Karsten Lindhardt for his valuable insights. We look forward to strengthening our collaboration moving forward. SAFE Patch is a Self-Adhesive, Flexible and Effective patch technology for delivery of drugs inside the oral cavity. Using an innovative drug formulation approach, the SAFE Patch, we strive to make drug administration more convenient and effective for patients. We are a (pending) spin-out from the Department of Pharmacy, University of Copenhagen. The sleep-disorder pharmaceutical start-up Ceremedy Aps is developing novel medication. The scientific co-founders Birgitte Rahbek Kornum, Bente Frølund and Petrine Wellendorph are all researchers at Innovation District Copenhagen-partner Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen, where their start-up journey took them past the University of Copenhagen Technology Transfer office and Niels Lysholm Engelhard, but the real game changer was the university's growing focus on helping entrepreneurial staff.
