I am spending 11 hours in an airport today! Sounds like something you really want to avoid. But not today. 🎉🎉🎉 Today’s Tokyo Haneda Airport experience is so much fun and worth sharing: 🥳The amazing Pokémon Pikachu show and pop-up store are celebrated by young and old fans. 🥳Edo-themed shopping streets create this immersive feeling of “I can’t believe I am in an airport right now!” 🥳Enjoy ‘onsen’ (Japanese hot spring) while watching planes come and go and get a glimpse of Mount Fuji on a clear day. 🥳F&B experience is authentic. Get the last taste of Japan before heading out. Thank you Haneda Airport for letting me leave Japan with such lovely memories. We/Blueprint specialise in Travel Retail knowledge transfer, tracking best practice implemented by airports, operators and brands. Travel Retail is half science and half art, simple not easy.

  • The Moodie Davitt Report’s feature Airports as Artports is a refreshing perspective on how art elevates the airport experience. “Düsseldorf Airport has a vision to be a ‘destination of excellence’. Its innovative Art Walk exhibition is an example of that mission, as the airport company supports local artists while simultaneously balancing commercial interests.” Thank you The Moodie Davitt Report, Pia Klauck and Tankred Stachelhaus for sharing these highly relevant insights. Please see below link.

✈️ Airports as Artports – Düsseldorf Airport Sets New Impulses! 🎨 Thrilled to see #DUS featured in The Moodie Davitt Report as a leader in innovative airport experiences. "Düsseldorf Airport is far more than a transportation hub. In fact, thanks to a far-sighted management policy, it has been transformed into a vibrant cultural platform, redefining the traditional airport experience through initiatives such as the innovative Art Walk exhibition." Despite retail challenges and vacant spaces, we’re finding creative ways to enhance our guests' experience. Our 2024 hihglight "Art Walk" gives regional artists a platform, turning the airport into a cultural hub that leaves lasting impressions. A special thanks to Tankred Stachelhaus for his outstanding work and expertise in curating this unique cultural project.   Thanks to Martin Moodie and the The Moodie Davitt Report and our amazing #TeamDUS 🚀 https://lnkd.in/ewVYxZG5

Positive reactions have been flooding in following the EX.CEL Experiential Retail Workshop, which was held in Cannes ahead of the TFWA World Exhibition & Conference. More than fifty senior travel retail executives gathered for the insights workshop organised by m1nd-set and Blueprint. Through detailed shopper insights from m1nd-set and best-in-class case studies from retail and travel retail showcased by Blueprint, delegates discovered how global shoppers are focusing less on price in the purchase decision as they become increasingly drawn by more experiential elements in store, from digital activations, retail theatre, AI driven interaction and staff engagement. Theo Goldberg, Director, Airport Retailers Association (ARA) Amsterdam Schiphol commended the workshop as “thought provoking, forward-thinking and refreshingly different”. He highlighted the “highly relevant cases on how AI technology is shaping the airport customer journey” adding that there was “lots of food for thought for airports to leverage with concession partners and brands.” Andrew Machin, Managing Director at retail design and marketing agency Kounter whose own contribution to the workshop showcased how AI can be used to bring innovation and interaction to the customer experience in travel retail, lauded the organisers saying the workshop was “very interesting and thought provoking” and expressed his delight that his agency was able to take part in the “vibrant debate around AI and the future of the customer experience in travel retail”. ORA (previously known as Groupe ELBA showcased how shoppers were able to engage at their recent Sol de Janeiro activation with L’Occitane en Provence at London Heathrow. Altavia Travel Retail demonstrated hugely engaging and creative retail experiences with Hendricks Amazonia Gin at London Heathrow, and luxurious experiences skincare shoppers can discover with its omnichannel activations for La Mer. Leading cigar brand Oettinger Davidoff AG also demonstrated the power of cross-category activations to enhance the customer experience and drive footfall and conversion in travel retail. Summerbird Organic’s Sales Director & Partner Thomas Pedersen says the company has been focusing on enhancing the in-store experience through thousands of hours of sales training for several years. Pedersen congratulated the organisers m1nd-set and Blueprint for “extraordinary and valuable insights through industry figures, customer behaviour, best practice cases and valuable industry networking”. Danish confectionery brand True Gum’s Co-Founder Morton Ebdrup said the workshop “gave me some real food for thought on how AI might change the way we shop and market in travel retail. It wasn’t just about the tech, but more about how we can make shopping more personal and engaging”. For more information and to enquire about a bespoke version of the the EX.CEL workshop for your organisation, please contact Anna Marchesini or Thomas Kaneko Henningsen.
