Meanwhile, in emerging markets, people are starting to request delicious yet affordable dairy products. Both trends push dairies to optimize their production and get more with less.     🌍 𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄? The average shelf life for yogurt in South Korea is just 12-21 days—one of the shortest in the world! This poses unique challenges for producers and consumers alike, particularly when it comes to food waste. To dive deeper into this issue, we conducted a 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰, surveying 𝟱𝟬𝟬 𝗞𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀 to better understand their preferences and behaviors around yogurt shelf life and waste.     Young consumers face a tough choice between nutrition and price. 🥦💲    As part of our recent global survey of 11,000 consumers, we asked which was more important: price or nutrition. The results from four of the 10 countries covered by the survey make clear that Gen Z and Millennials especially are feeling the pinch. 💸    🔢 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 🔢    𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗦  GenZs and Millennials: up to 62%. All respondents: 48%    𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗞:  GenZs and Millennials: up to 51%. All respondents: 39%    𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲:  GenZs: 50%.     Ever heard of the “𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗸” generation? Better known as Gen Z, its members are disrupting the dairy industry by consuming far less dairy than their parents.🐮    So what would it take to make this generation fall in love with dairy? According to our recent survey of 11,000 consumers across 10 countries, nutrition could be the answer.    More than any other generation surveyed, Gen Zs prioritize nutrition over taste. Here’s a snapshot from just three countries.    ❗ Percentages of respondents who prioritize nutrition over taste ❗    𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗦  GenZs: 68%. All respondents: 54%    𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗞  GenZs: 48%. All respondents: 34%    𝗚𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆  GenZs: 50%. All respondents: 34%    Dairy is rich in naturally-occurring nutrients, making it a perfect fit for health-conscious Gen Zs. So if you’re ready to help turn the “not milk” generation into the next “got milk” one, why not focus on nutrition in your messaging?
