Phylogenetic Analysis of a Microbialite-Forming Microbial Mat from a Hypersaline Lake of the Kiritimati Atoll, Central Pacific
Figure 6
Model of the stratified microbial mat of Lake 21 and relative abundances of bacterial phyla.
Illustrated are the bacterial phyla, candidate divisions, and proteobacterial classes found within the different layers. Taxonomic classification was performed according to SILVA SSU rRNA database 111 [39]. Bacterial phyla with a relative abundance lower 0.5% were summarized as the artificial group “Other”. The artificial group “Other” includes Acidobacteria, CD BHI80-139, CD BRC1, CD JL-ETNP-Z39, CD NPL-UPA2, CD WS6, Chlorobi, Deinococcus-Thermus, Fibrobacteres, Lentisphaerae, and Synergistetes (for details see Figure S3).
