    One Piece
    Netflix has started production on the second season of its live-action "One Piece" series. The streaming service confirmed the return of key characters and announced new cast members joining the series.

    Characters and Crew

    Netflix confirmed Ilia Isorelys Paulino will return as Alvida, Jeff Ward as Buggy, and Michael Dorman as Gold Roger. The original Straw Hat crew is also set to return. Iñaki Godoy will reprise his role as Monkey D. Luffy. Mackenyu will return as Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji. The crew will reunite in Cape Town.

    Cast and Villains

    The second season introduces new villains and additional cast members. Daniel Lasker will play Mr. 9, Camrus Johnson will portray Mr. 5, Jazzara Jaslyn will be Miss Valentine, and David Dastmalchian will take on the role of Mr. 3. Additional new cast members include Brendan Sean Murray as Brogy, Callum Kerr as Smoker, Clive Russell as Crocus, Julia Rehwald as Tashigi, Rob Colletti as Wapol, Ty Keogh as Dalton, and Werner Coetser as Dorry. More cast members will be announced later.

    Background and Production

    "One Piece" is based on Eiichiro Oda's manga series, which holds the record for Japan's highest-selling manga. The live-action series debuted in August 2023 and was quickly renewed for a second season. The series is a collaboration between Shueisha, ITV Studios partner Tomorrow Studios, and Netflix. Matt Owens and Joe Tracz are co-showrunners, writers, and executive producers for the live-action series.

    Eiichiro Oda, Marty Adelstein, and Becky Clements from Tomorrow Studios, Tetsu Fujimura, Chris Symes, and Steven Maeda also serve as executive producers. Steven Maeda, who co-showran the first season with Matt Owens, has stepped down for the second season. Joe Tracz, known for his work on "Percy Jackson and the Olympians," has taken over as co-showrunner and co-executive producer.
