    Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu met with the Prime Minister and Union Ministers to discuss projects. He talked with Ashwini Vaishnaw about railway and IT setups and demanded permissions for a steel facility. Naidu also met Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on the Vizag steel plant issue. Reports suggest the government has dropped plans to privatise it.

    New Delhi: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu called on the Prime Minister and met with several cabinet ministers to further projects in his state.

    Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw visited Naidu at his residence in the national capital. In his discussion with Vaishnaw, Naidu discussed the South Coast Railway (SCoR) zone. The two leaders spoke about railway projects, Amaravati's IT setup, and the state's electronics and medical device industries.

    Naidu praised the Union government for providing rail connection to Amaravati. According to reports, Naidu also discussed the Arcelor Mittal Steel facility in Anakapalle and demanded swift permissions for the project.

    Thereafter, Naidu went to meet Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman at her residence.

    Similarly, sources suggested in meeting with Sitharaman the disinvestment of Vizag steel plant also came up.

      Naidu also discussed this issue with JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy and Union Steel Minister.

      Sources in TDP said the government has dropped the plans to privatise the Vizag steel plant.

      And the Centre is considering merger of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, with astate-owned SAIL.
