    On Cam: Moment when 6.9 magnitude earthquake strikes Japan; tsunami warning issued

    A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6.9 hit southwestern Japan late on Monday, prompting the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) to issue a tsunami advisory for Miyazaki Prefecture and nearby Kochi Prefecture. The earthquake occurred at 9:19 PM local time and was centred off the coast of Miyazaki, located on the southern island of Kyushu. The earthquake prompted concerns of tsunami waves of up to one metre in height.
