European electricity markets in disarray due to Dunkelflaute and interconnection capacity constraints. Enefit Green's home markets interestingly still relatively modestly priced today vs Western Europe. Just had a look at our production map and our wind turbines are currently providing 600MW+ to our home markets. Below the pic from today's worst hour and some explanations from Montel Analytics

Extreme price differences between the Nordic areas and the Continent are expected today. How is this possible under conditions of low wind supply and cold weather across Europe? ❄️🌬️   During the 17th hour, the trading price in Germany (DE) reached 936.3 EUR/MWh, compared to just 7.6 EUR/MWh in Sweden's SE2 zone. A significant discrepancy is also evident among the Nordic hydro areas: NO5 has the lowest price among the southern hydro zones, while NO3's price is ten times higher than that of NO4 and SE1/SE2. ⚡💶   An analysis of the FBMC domain reveals that constraints between SE2 and SE3 are limiting increased production in the "cheap" areas: NO4, SE1, and SE2. Consequently, exports to the Continent are being supplied by hydro production in the southern regions (NO2 and NO1). Although production in NO3 would be more economical under these conditions, the area is operating at its hydro production capacity limit due to low wind power output. 💨💧   While the price level in NO5 is lower than in other southern areas, its production cannot be utilized. Congestion on the CNEC Mauranger-Blåfalli is restricting production in NO5, leading to an extremely high price difference compared to neighboring bidding zones. 📉⚙️ This CNEC is active with a shadow price of 2,433 EUR/MWh, setting a record since the start of the Nordic FBMC. This shadow price indicates that the most expensive generation in NO2 and NO1 must be accepted to maintain system balance and satisfy system constraints. 🚨 #energymarkets #nordics #energyprices #europe #energysector

  • 🌟 Major Milestone for Renewable Energy in Estonia! Exciting developments in Põhja-Pärnumaa: the Sopi-Tootsi Wind Farm is now fully operational, with all 38 turbines generating clean energy at full capacity. And the momentum doesn’t stop there—next week, the neighboring solar park, featuring over 100,000 solar panels, will also begin full-scale electricity production. A special thank you to Eesti Rahvusringhääling for visiting and helping to share this incredible story of progress. Progress in action: Enefit Green has deployed a floating meteorological station for the Liivi Bay Offshore Wind Farm, marking a significant step toward transforming Estonia’s energy future. Hear more from Erik Iida, Offshore Wind Development Engineer, in the video below! 🌊 With a planned capacity of up to 1,000 MW, the wind farm has the potential to supply nearly half of Estonia’s annual electricity needs, generating approximately 4 TWh of clean, renewable energy from up to 84 turbines each year. To optimize the design and performance of the wind farm, we’ve installed an advanced measurement system that combines a LiDAR, wave spotter buoy, and seabed-mounted sensors. This state-of-the-art technology will provide critical data on wind, waves, currents, and winter ice conditions. In collaboration with partners such as Fraunhofer-Institut für Windenergiesysteme, Luode Consulting, and Riigilaevastik | Estonian State Fleet, we’re conducting one of our most sophisticated measurement campaigns to date – setting a new benchmark for offshore wind development in the region. #OffshoreWind #RenewableEnergy #GreenEnergy #EnefitGreen #WindPower

🎆 Dobre wiadomości od naszych przyjaciół z Enefit Green, jednego z wiodących producentów energii odnawialnej w regionie Morza Bałtyckiego. W październiku tego roku koncern wyprodukował 200,1 GWh energii elektrycznej. Oznacza to wzrost 19,0% w stosunku do października 2023 r. Jest to zgodne z naszą zrewidowaną prognozą produkcji, pomimo umiarkowanych warunków wietrznych” - skomentował Innar Kaasik, członek zarządu i szef produkcji w Enefit Green.
