As the year wraps up, it’s wild to think about everything we’ve accomplished at S.Lab. What started as a big, bold idea just a few years ago has grown into something real and tangible. This year, we opened our pilot production line, grew the team from 4 to 12 (three times!), and completed an audit with none other than L'Oréal. We also kicked off a pilot project with JTI and built an incredible pipeline of potential clients worth €20 million. On top of that, we wrapped up a few acceleration programs, received grants from Google for Startups, Seeds of Bravery, and BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt,  aaand… soft-launched our Seed round! Along the way, we earned media coverage across Europe and the US, attended dozens of conferences and even took home the Evolución Award. And honestly, we’re just getting started! It’s been a year of milestones, growth, and setting the stage for what’s next. To everyone who has been part of this journey – thank you for believing in us 💚 Wishing you a joyful holiday season, and see you in 2025. We’re already working hard to make it more sustainable. 👋 S.Lab attended 🌍 United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP29 Azerbaijan. Supported by Greencubator and Ukraine-Moldova American Enterprise Fund our CEO and Co-founder, Julia Bialetska, participated in a panel discussing how 🇺🇦 Ukrainian climate innovations are making a global impact. Together with other promising climate tech companies she discussed 💪 challenges faced by green innovators in market adoption, 💰 role of the climate-focused investors in the future of climate technologies and 🤝 how startups can collaborate with corporate players. 📣 We need a more open dialogue. The real changemakers: startups, climate investors, innovators should be invited to share their experience and be given an opportunity to lobby their interests. 🇪🇺 The EU has strong green policies, but it lacks enough opportunities for startups and innovators to develop. And soon we can find ourselves in the situation, when companies desperately need new solutions to comply with new regulations, but there’s not enough of those on the EU market. ❗ Europe must double its climate investments to meet 2030 targets. So let’s make some real change — because the future depends on what we invest in today.

🔥 This week, S.Lab is participating in the United Nations Climate Change Conference COP29 Azerbaijan in Baku as part of the 🇺🇦 Ukrainian delegation organized by Greencubator and Ukraine-Moldova American Enterprise Fund. Julia Bialetska and Vasyl Tymoshchuk will present an innovative approach to production of 🌱 sustainable alternative to polystyrene, highlight scaling opportunities and plans and discuss how S.Lab is driving new materials development. 📌 On November 16 S.Lab team will take part in a panel discussion "Climate Innovations Made in Ukraine: Driving Global Sustainability." 🛍 Luxury brands face a unique challenge in balancing sustainability with their brand image. Packaging is key to a luxury experience — it reflects quality, exclusivity, and the brand’s identity. But aside from looking good packaging as well needs to protect the item inside, ensuring it reaches the customer in perfect condition. 🌱 And while sustainable materials may seem more expensive than regular plastics, the real costs add up over time. Plastics, made mostly from fossil fuels, release harmful greenhouse gasses at stages from production to disposal. Moving to sustainable options could help brands reduce negative impacts, protecting both their image and the environment. JTI is actively working to adopt more 🔄 circular materials and is dedicated to reducing its environmental impact while maintaining a premium look and feel for its products. 👋 It was a great experience collaborating with a global company committed to sustainability.
