Dear friends and partners, Our company's CEO, Heigo Mõlder, is attending the SMM trade fair in Hamburg. This is a great opportunity to catch up with him and have a chat, especially if you're interested in autonomous systems and robotic ships 😉 #AIRE, #TalTech, #AI, #ASV
About us
MindChip is developing an autonomous surface vessel for harbour monitoring and cleaning application. We have developed a robotic vessel for autonomous data collection and seabed/underwater infrastructure monitoring for harbour basins, quays and fairways. Our focus is on the detection of siltation, oil spills, floating obstacles and in the condition monitoring of the underwater infrastructure. We aim to provide a technical solution for fully autonomous regular service, meaning that repeated monitoring cycles in harbour basin and the recharging of the vessel are done without any need for human interaction. Gathered data can be used to develop an almost live digital twin of the harbour is provided for the user. As a side benefit, the floating waste can be collected from water surface during the monitoring runs. In addition, our situational awareness and navigation solution, trained in demanding harbour environment, has a potential to be developed into a separate product for manned vessels improving their autonomous capabilities and manoeuvering safety.

MindChip secures contract with European Space Agency! We are thrilled to announce that MindChip has been awarded a contract by the European Space Agency (ESA)! Our mission is to modernize the automated surveying of maritime areas. For instance, in Estonia, 30% of maritime areas lack up-to-date data, compromising safety and seabed knowledge. By leveraging Satellite-Derived Bathymetry (SDB) in conjunction with our autonomous robotic vessel, we will efficiently validate and extend SDB data, enabling precise and rapid coverage of vast areas. Supported by research from Estonian Maritime Academy at the University of Tartu, this initiative specifically targets the high demand for accurate surveys, particularly in rocky and shallow coastal regions. Additionally, we are developing a web platform to facilitate self-service measurement orders. Stay tuned as we continue to innovate and transform maritime surveying! #ESA #MindChip #UniTartu #TalTech #MaritimeSafety #Innovation #ASV #Estonia

Low-cost autonomous oil-spill clean-up robots can provide a solution to mitigate the consequences of maritime accidents! Singapore is currently addressing a significant oil spill on its southern coastline resulting from a ship collision, resulting in a 400-tonne oil spill. Ongoing efforts are being made to contain and minimize the impact of the spill. Oil spills are a major environmental danger, happening unexpectedly and causing severe damage to the environment. The unpredictable nature of these events makes it difficult to have sufficient resources and personnel to respond to them globally at all times. However, the technological innovations can provide a solution! The MindChip MC4000 is an autonomous oil-spill clean-up robot that is specifically designed for ports, harbors, and coastal waters to keep the water surface clean. It is fully electric and equipped with an oil spill detection sensor, allowing it to activate an oil skimmer upon detection. This innovative vessel is available 24/7 and has a non-stop service cycle, making it an efficient and cost-effective solution for collecting oil contamination. By working together with multiple vessels, the cleanup process can be accelerated even further. The first prototype of the robot ship is being developed by the order and in collaboration with Tallinn Shipyard OÜ. Set to be completed by spring 2025, providing a much-needed solution for oil spills around the world.
