The association discussed foreign trade affairs and presented its perspective on the challenges faced by investors. At the end of the meeting, #ABA presented a memorandum that included key proposals for trade facilitation. ABA also extended an invitation to the Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade to meet with its members.

He suggested using ABA's expertise in promoting joint Egyptian Greek tourism programs, as well as exploring the possibility of cooperation between ABA and Greek business organizations, calling on ABA to provide him with proposals to enhance cooperation in the field of #investment and #trade. The Alexandria Business Association, headed by Mr. Mohamed Hanno, ABA Chairman, received Ambassador Naela Gabr, head of The National Coordinating Committee for Combating and Preventing Illegal Migration and Trafficking. in the presence of board members, Dr. Mohamed Ghatwary, and M. Mohamed Arafa, to discuss ways to cooperate on a number of issues, including reducing illegal migration and finding alternative opportunities for Egyptian workers. Ambassador Naela Gabr, head of the National Committee, pointed out the committee's affiliation with the Prime Minister's Office and its adoption of a number of issues, including reducing illegal migration by #training youth, educating and #empowering_women, supporting technical education and conducting studies that reveal the volume of illegal migration. “We have already identified a map of the most illegal migration governorates in cooperation with the Central Agency for Mobilization and Statistics,” she said. Kim Younghyon, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, said that “ Egypt is a priority for his country, which seeks to invest and develop the #education and vocational training sectors”, and emphasized the great interest in #technical fields and human and climate development, especially with the increasing needs of smart cities for high technologies. Alexandria Business Association, headed by Mohamed Hanno, ABA Chairman, received Mr. Håkan Emsgård, Swedish Ambassador to Cairo, and Khaled Abdel Wahab, Business Development Officer at the Embassy, in the presence of several members of the association, to discuss ways of cooperation and know about the different needs of the labor market in Sweden and the possibility of Boosting Swedish investments in Egypt. Sweden's ambassador to Egypt, said that there are various areas in which Sweden plans to cooperate with Egypt, including health, information technology, energy, and transportation, calling for a mechanism that contributes to introducing Egyptian youth to the opportunities available in Sweden. The #Swedish_ambassador announced the possibility of providing financial support and grants to hospitals in Cairo and Alexandria to help provide medical equipment and technical support. Emsgur pointed out that there is a need for game #developers in Sweden, pointing out ways to integrate Egyptian youth into the Swedish market by providing job opportunities in Swedish companies remotely. Cairo, October 2023—Al-Masry Al-Youm Economic Forum took place on Sunday. It featured economist Professor Jeffrey Sachs, who discussed Africa's potential to overcome poverty through investments, particularly in education. Sponsored by #Alexandria_Business_Association (#ABA) , the forum included insights from various ministers and diplomats on #investment challenges in #Egypt. Mohamed Hanno, chairman of the association, pointed out a survey of 1,500 investors conducted with Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics” CAPMAS”, revealing procedural delays and smaller company sizes outside Cairo. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat ,Minister of Planning, opened the forum by emphasizing the government’s efforts to create a favorable investment climate. Ahmed kojak , Finance Minister announced a one trillion Egyptian pound ceiling for public investments to aid the Central Bank's currency management. Sachs highlighted the importance of prioritizing #education, stating, "If Africa invests in education, it will become an economic player." The forum gathered key figures, including former Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab, and former Arab League Secretary-General Amr Moussa, to discuss Egypt’s economic future and #sustainability.
