Mohamed Abou Basha, Head of Macroeconomic Analysis at EFG Hermes Research discussed with Bloomberg TV the Egyptian economy's inflation rates where he forecasts that the CBE is unlikely to ease rates before 1Q25. Abou Basha views the IMF deal as remaining crucial, with progress on fiscal targets but a need for faster privatization and structural reforms. Abou Basha adds that regional conflict has weighed heavily, cutting Suez Canal revenues by 70% and slowing tourism, but its resolution could bring opportunities like lower oil prices and eased subsidy pressures. EFG Hermes’ Private Equity arm has launched a USD 300 million Saudi Education Fund (SEF) to build an institutional world-class K-12 operator in Saudi Arabia. Leveraging its extensive track record in the education sector, EFG Hermes has partnered with GFH to acquire a portfolio of international schools owned by private equity funds under the brand name Britus Education. This portfolio includes: • Four schools in Saudi Arabia • Two in the UAE • One in Bahrain Boasting a total capacity of approximately 12,000 students, nearly 8,000 students are currently enrolled. EFG Hermes is poised to deliver exceptional educational services to its new student populations and is committed to ensuring that Britus Education flourishes and adapts to the dynamic needs of students and communities throughout the region.
