By 1995, as the software’s global reach expanded, SCHALLPLAN evolved into SoundPLAN, a name that resonated internationally. This milestone signified not just a rebranding but also the beginning of a worldwide journey. Fast forward to 1998, SoundPLAN 5.0 debuted on Windows 95. The Birth of an Idea Every revolution begins with a spark. For SoundPLAN, it started with two visionaries—Dipl.-Ing. Gert Braunstein and Arne Berndt. In the early days of noise protection, noise reports were calculated with pocket calculators—a tedious process. Driven by their shared passion for innovation, Braunstein focused on technical development, while Berndt took charge of programming. Both turned their ideas into reality in Germany, founding their company, "Engineering Company for Environmental Protection—Traffic Planning—Data Processing." By 1987, the software, SCHALLPLAN, was ready.
