Ayer Jon Ayestarán y Xabier Lopez de Pariza participaton en una jornada de emprendimiento organizada por Donostia Sustapena - Fomento San Sebastián para celebrar el primer aniversario de #EKINN como nodo de innovación y emprendimiento en San Sebastián. Durante la jornada, tuvieron la oportunidad de presentar su proyecto LatexYZ que trata sobre impresión 3D de polímeros de altas prestaciones. Fueron uno de los 14 nuevos proyectos que se presentaron y que financia Donostia Sustapena - Fomento San Sebastián a través del programa #EKINN+. ⚛️ Atzo, Jon Ayestarán eta Xabier Lopez de Pariza ikertzaileek Donostia Sustapena - Fomento San Sebastián -ek antolatutako ekintzailetza jardunaldian parte hartu zuten, #EKINN+ nodoaren lehen urteurrena ospatzeko. Jardunaldian, LatexYZ proiektua aurkezteko aukera izan zuten, goi-mailako errendimenduko polimeroen 3D inprimaketari buruzkoa. LatexYZ EKINN+ programak finantzatutako 14 proiektu berrietako bat da.

Travel to the Nano World: Inspiring Young Minds! On February 14th, CIC nanoGUNE and #POLYMAT organized the activity “Travel to the Nano World" as part of the Emakumeak Zientzian initiative. 🧪🔬 Around 20 teenagers aged 14 to 17 participated in this exciting experience, where they explored the fascinating world of nanoscience through hands-on activities on polymer chemistry, physics and biology, and inspiring discussions with the volunteers who guided them alongside the experiments and guided visit to the labs. 👩🔬🔍 Thank you to all the participants and volunteers for making this possible 🌟 #EmakumeakZientzian #Nanoscience #STEM #ScienceForAll #WomenInScience

We are delighted to share that the article "Moiré two-dimensional covalent organic framework superlattices", co-authored by Aurelio Mateo-Alonso and an international team, has been published in Nature Magazine Chemistry! 🔬 This study explores the formation of bilayer 2D covalent organic frameworks (COFs) and their ability to self-assemble into moiré superlattices. MUJERES EN LA CIENCIA Y MUJERES TRAS LA CIENCIA "Desde el inicio de la historia, las mujeres han formado parte de la ciencia y la tecnología y su contribución ha sido clave para el progreso de estas disciplinas. Sin embargo, en la mayoría de los casos, sus logros y descubrimientos han sido sistemáticamente ignorados y ellas rara vez han recibido el reconocimiento que merecían. Más allá de las pocas científicas que han sido galardonadas con premios Nobel o que se han incluido en los libros de texto, como Marie Curie o Rosalind Franklin, existen decenas de físicas, químicas, matemáticas, biólogas e informáticas que han caído en el olvido. A día de hoy, las carreras científicas siguen estando protagonizadas por los hombres y la brecha de genero presente en este ámbito se mantiene.  Valorando esta realidad, en diciembre de 2015, la Asamblea General de las Naciones Unidas designó el 11 de febrero como Día Internacional de la Mujer y la Niña en la Ciencia con la intención de reivindicar el papel de la mujer en la historia de la ciencia y concienciar sobre la falta de paridad en las carreras STEM (ciencia, tecnología, ingeniería y matemáticas por sus siglas en inglés). " Esto publicaba National Geographic España el año, y no puedo evitar decir que leer esto sobre nuestra realidad me duele porque me parece otra de las muchas cosas que debería estar ya superada. Por eso me resultan tan inspiradoras y esperanzadoras las cada vez más mujeres que conozco trabajando en la ciencia, en mi entorno más cercano y mujeres como Idoia Azaldegui Alba y Mónica Moreno de POLYMAT que trabajan en el back stage buscando generar las condiciones más óptimas que que otras personas, mujeres y hombres, puedan dedicarse a su vocación científica.
