Wait... are we dreaming? 😱 We’re still wrapping our heads around this: we’ve secured the largest wind propulsion retrofit order to date! 🚢 Maersk Tankers, one of the world’s largest tanker operators, is set to deploy 20 eSAILs® - each 26 meters tall - across five MR vessels as part of its strategy to reduce its environmental footprint and advance sustainable solutions in maritime transportation. After an in-depth analysis assessing a range of competing technologies and wind providers, the green technology catalyst Njord selected our suction sail technology as the best-in-class wind solution! 📢 José Miguel Bermúdez Miquel, our CEO and co-founder, describes the order as a “key milestone”, adding: “The trust Maersk Tankers has placed in our technology reinforces the proven capabilities of our solution in reducing fuel consumption and emissions, while contributing to CII and FuelEU regulatory compliance. Designed to operate safely in challenging conditions, our system is particularly well-suited for safe, high performing and cost-efficient operation on tankers. We’re excited to work alongside Maersk Tankers as they progress in their decarbonization efforts.” Find out more in our latest press release: https://lnkd.in/dM74sy-5 And did we mention that this isn’t all we have planned for 2024? Stay tuned… more big things are coming! 🚀 #windpropulsion #shipsandshipping International Windship Association

Strengthening ties with.... 🐉 Last week, our CCO, Daniel Mann, traveled to China to strengthen our partnerships in the great Chinese shipbuilding market: and what a week it was! 💣 Daniel had the pleasure of visiting Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Holdings and Jiangsu New Times Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (NTS), two shipyards leading the way in innovation. Both will soon be installing bound4blue’s eSAIL® technology on newbuild vessels, marking: ✔️ NTS’s first-ever wind propulsion installation ✔️ One of the first projects for Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Holdings It’s an exciting step forward as we look ahead to many more eSAIL® installations in the region! Oh, and here’s the fun part: Daniel didn’t just talk about innovation... he embraced it! He even tried sea worms during his trip. 🐛 Talk about commitment! Here’s to greener shipping 🚢💙 #shipsandshipping #windpropulsion

In today’s episode of MEET THE TEAM... 👀 Let’s introduce David Osuna Góngora, our Chief Financial Officer. David has a strong background in finance: he holds a degree in Business Administration, a postgraduate degree in Financial Management, and an Executive MBA from IESE Business School. 📈 David began his career in banking, gaining a decade of experience while completing his studies. After earning his Executive MBA, he moved to Panama, where he spent four years as VP of Finance at a real estate fund. Back in Spain, he served as CFO at Cuatroochenta, leading its IPO, managing capital rounds, and driving growth through M&A strategies. Outside of work, David loves outdoor adventures, particularly hiking and mountain biking. 🚴 He also treasures traveling with his family and watching his children’s football matches. No weekend is complete for David without enjoying some "bravas" and a Coca-Cola on a sunny terrace surrounded by loved ones. 🌞 Now, let’s meet Isabel Peral Illera, our People Business Partner. Isabel has a diverse background that blends legal knowledge with a love for numbers. 📊 She holds a degree in Labor Relations from UPF and a Master’s in Legal Labor Advisory from CEF with UDIMA. With over seven years of experience in various roles, Isabel has specialized in payroll and social security, though her versatility has also led her to excel in legal advisory and people management. 🧑💼 Outside of work, Isabel is a passionate reader of crime novels, thrillers, and detective stories. 📚 She's also a fan of rock and indie music, with a special affinity for spanish artists. When she’s not immersed in books or music, you can find her caring for animals - a true "slave to her cat Lucifer" as she humorously puts it. 🐾 Finally, meet Gerard Torres Salgado Torres, our Junior Naval Engineer at bound4blue. Gerard is graduated in Naval Systems and Technology Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. One professional curiosity about him: Gerard once created a technical guide for the hull of a ClassGlobe 5.80 sailboat - because why settle for a boring project when you can build a boat designed to cross oceans? 🌊 Outside of work, he is all about adventure, whether it’s scaling mountains, climbing rocks, skiing down slopes, or sailing the high seas. ⛵️ His past life in maritime rescue operations gave him hands-on experience in handling high-pressure situations and working as part of a heroic team. 🚨 When Gerard isn't exploring the great outdoors, you’ll find him dreaming up his next adventure. Whether it’s climbing a new peak, navigating the open waters, or simply soaking in the beauty of nature, he’s always seeking the next challenge. ⚓️ That’s all for today! Stay with us to discover more about the amazing people who make it all happen. 😊 #shipsandshipping #windpropulsion

⚠️ FuelEU Maritime is here ⚠️ Ready to sail into the future? Ahoy, maritime professionals! 🌊 FuelEU Maritime is here, reshaping shipping with ambitious GHG emissions targets. A new year brings new challenges... let’s turn them into opportunities! At bound4blue, we say: bring it on! Wind-Assisted Propulsion Systems (WAPS) like our eSAIL® aren’t just solutions... they’re game-changers. 👉 So, what is FuelEU Maritime? This ambitious framework tackles GHG emissions across a ship’s entire fuel lifecycle, not just onboard usage. Tough targets? Absolutely. But by harnessing wind power, shipowners can turn compliance into a commercial advantage. 🎯 Why WAPS are your best ally: - Easier compliance: GHG Intensity? Relax! Thanks to the Wind Reward Factor, ships using WAPS enjoy easier compliance and significant financial benefits. - Broader benefits: WAPS reduce fuel consumption and help meet not only FuelEU but other major EU and International regulations like EU ETS, EEXI/EEDI, and CII. - Smart strategies: Pool fleet performance or bank surpluses for long-term savings and adaptability. 💡 Pro tip: Early adopters of wind propulsion tech gain competitive advantage, while penalty payers may find their costs... unsustainable. Ready to unlock compliance and savings? Check out our latest blog where Cristina Aleixendri Muñoz dives into all the insights. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/dCbXcgxh Don’t just ride the waves, lead the fleet toward a greener, more profitable future. Let’s set sail together! 🚢 #shipsandshipping #windpropulsion
