The name "Great Circle" is inspired by the concept of the shortest sailing path between two points, accounting for the curvature of the earth. This mirrors PIER71's programme ethos - "Navigating challenges to transform concepts into viable products in the fastest way possible". The last few months, start-ups have worked hard to put forth their best ideas and solutions to address challenges or innovation opportunities. EPS To the Moon Fundraiser 2024 – Mission accomplished and surpassed! In the 2024 edition of our biannual fundraiser we embarked on an ambitious endeavour, setting our sights on the Moon. The EPS Community not just delivered, we exceeded! With the efforts of our 6000-strong EPS employees across sea and shore, and the wider maritime community, we far exceeded our goals covering an extraordinary 574,644km in 20 days and raising over S$2 million for Mercy Ships. In addition, Mercy Ships will also be matching the S$2 million raised, bringing the campaign’s total impact to an impressive S$4 million! Highlights of the campaign include the Ironman Langkawi race, a Round-The-Island (RTI) Ride, Run, and Walk in Singapore, internal Zwift cycling competitions as well as a company-wide Run-Walk Day that united all seven EPS offices worldwide. Not forgetting our global fleet who played a vital role in extending the impact beyond the shore, where the crew onboard EPS vessels consistently logged their miles, contributing significantly to the campaign and embodying the EPS spirit to the cause.
