🏆✨ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗻 𝘂𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗣𝗩 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀! ✨🏆 We were honored to be part of such a prestigious event, where excellence in Research was celebrated. A highlight of the night was the inspiring speech delivered by Maria Luz Gerbaudo, who shared powerful insights on the resilience of structures and the prevention of progressive collapse. Maria Luz Gerbaudo captivated the audience with their thought-provoking words on building resilience, reminding us of the importance of keeping buildings safe to protect human safety. 🏨 🦎 This work is part of the research carried out at Building Resilient - ICITECH in the framework of the #Endure project, funded by the European Research Council (ERC). 📹 Don't miss this talk 👇 #PremisUPV Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV)

Improving the resilience of buildings and bridges | Mejoramos la resiliencia de edificios y puentes
Sobre nosotros
The Building Resilient research group performs research within the framework of the Concrete Science and Technology Institute (ICITECH) of the Universitat Politècnica de València and aim to improve the resilience of our society by making buildings and bridges more resilient. Our combined basic and applied research focuses on the structural engineering field. We work in the following thematic areas: 1) Structural retrofitting 2) Structural assessment 3) Learning from failures 4) Progressive collapse and robustness Our research is usually associated with ambitious experimental campaigns, including many on full-scale structures. We combine basic and applied research, with a high degree of transfer to industry.

🏙️ In the #Enhace project, we are looking for existing reinforced concrete buildings that need strengthening. 👨💻 We perform advanced numerical analysis with SAP2000 to analyse what happens in the structure and to design the least invasive retrofitting strategy based on hanging floors from the roof. #Enhance project, funded by Generalitat Valenciana.

🎉 The Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) has funded the #Enforce project. 👩🔬 Principal Investigator 👉 Lisbel Rueda García 🎯 The overall aim of Enforce is to provide a user-friendly tool for assessing the collapse risk of existing buildings in the Valencian Community, supporting decision-making on robustness improvement. This is 1 of 8 projects funded in this call in the area of Industrial production, civil engineering and engineering for society.

We are thrilled to share that the Building Resilient - ICITECH team has successfully completed outstanding laboratory tests. 💪 🌟 🚧 The tests involved subassemblies representing a critical part of a building. To simulate extreme conditions, we used three hydraulic jacks to replicate collapse scenarios. Over 100 sensors were used to gather extensive data. 🔌 👷♀️ 👷♂️ A big thank you to the entire team for their hard work, dedication, and expertise in making this possible. Closing 2024 with this success fills us with pride and energy for the next stage of the #Endure project. 🚀 Let’s keep building resilience together 🏗️🔬 Happy New Year!! ✨ 🥂 🎄 European Research Council (ERC) #Endure #EUfunded #Horizon2020

🚧 Exciting times ahead for #Endure project! We are all set to conduct our subassembly test, which represents a section of a reinforced concrete building, complete with its columns, beams, and slab. 🔧 We will simulate the collapse using two hydraulic jacks, and to ensure we capture every detail, we have over 110 sensors and more than 4 cameras ready to document the process. ➡️ Stay tuned for updates on this groundbreaking test!
