🌐 Did you know about the five novel CO₂ conversion technologies developed within the CATCO2NVERS project? On our new website tab, we have included a short explanation and a video to better understand these innovations. ➡The fifth technology is the Catalytic Conversion of CO₂ to Bio-Methanol a multi-metal catalyst for efficient CO₂-to-methanol conversion, achieving 83% selectivity with a recirculation system for greener, low-pressure methanol production. ℹFind more information and the video explanation on our website: https://lnkd.in/dhyqF3pF #Catalytic #biopolymers #electrocatalysis #enzymatic #chemicals Funditec Wageningen University & Research CARTIF CSIC University of Twente Avantium PERSEO Biotechnology S.L. 📘 Title: Formation of bio-based cyclic carbonates from CO2 and renewable feedstocks via porous poly(azomethine)-based heterogeneous catalysts. 🔬 This study demonstrates the successful cycloaddition of #CO2 to epoxidized soybean oil (ESBO), achieving over 90% in both epoxide conversion and cyclic carbonate yield. The process utilizes innovative porous catalysts made from iron or cobalt poly(azomethine) (PAM) networks. 🌟 These catalysts not only delivered exceptional results but also showed outstanding recyclability, maintaining performance for up to five cycles. The reactions were carried out under remarkably mild conditions—120 ºC, 7 bars of CO2, and 16 hours—making it the most efficient method reported to date for biomass-derived aliphatic epoxides.
