Mark Plumbley. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. Mark Plumbley is a Professor at the Centre for Vision, Speech and Signal Processing (CVSSP), University of Surrey, UK. He specializes in audio analysis and processing, using advanced signal processing and machine learning methods. His remarkable achievements include leading the first international DCASE Challenge on Acoustic Scene and Event Detection and co-editing the book “Computational Analysis of Sound Scenes and Events” (Springer, 2018). 🌍 He currently holds the 5-year EPSRC Fellowship "AI for Sound". He also is a Member of the IEEE Signal Processing Society Technical Committee on Audio and Acoustic Signal Processing, and a Fellow of the IET and IEEE. Dr. Noé Jiménez, Senior Scientist at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), develops cutting-edge research at the Institute of Instrumentation for Molecular Imaging (i3M). With over 15 years of experience, he specializes in imaging and therapeutic ultrasound systems, wavefront shaping techniques, and acoustic metamaterials. 🌍 His career includes research positions at top institutions such as CNRS (France), Columbia University (USA), the University of Salford (UK), and the University of Le Mans (France). We’re truly honored to announce the 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 of the Forum Acusticum - Euronoise 2025, titled ‘𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬’ and delivered by Francesco Aletta.   𝐃𝐫. 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐨 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐚 is a Lecturer in Building Physics and Soundscape at University College London (UCL). His research focuses on environmental acoustics and soundscape studies, contributing to ISO 12913 soundscape standards. 📚 With over 200 publications and multiple awards, including the ASA Science Communication Award (2023), Dr. Aletta’s work continues to influence policy documents and guidelines aimed at promoting healthier and more sustainable sound environments globally. 🌍 He leads international collaborations and serves on editorial boards and committees for major acoustics conferences and journals.
