🚨 Did you know that 1 in 5 women are considering resigning right now due to menopause symptoms? That's a HUGE loss of talent and experience that businesses can't afford. But here's the exciting part - new research suggests we might have more control over menopause than previously thought! For #MenopauseAwarenessMonth, lead nutritionist Francesca Lyon explores some groundbreaking studies showing how environmental factors can actually influence both the timing and severity of menopause symptoms. 🚨 New Research Alert: PCOS May Impact Brain Health in Later Life 🧠 Francesca Lyon, lead nutritionist at FUTURE WOMAN, is always on the lookout for new research. 👀 A recent study on women with polycystic ovarian syndrome (or PCOS) has caught her attention - and it's findings are pretty worrying. 🔬 The study suggests that women with PCOS may face faster cognitive decline as they age, showing lower performance in attention, memory, and verbal skills by the time they reach their 40s and 50s. But why? The research points to two potential culprits: insulin resistance and inflammation. However, Francesca believes there's a third key factor that warrants investigation - one that's often overlooked in PCOS research. Curious about what it could be? Want better productivity and performance at work? Learn how to change up your to-do list according to your menstrual cycle!
Does the birth control pill make women more or less productive? I had a great time with the Carwow women's network last week presenting on all things hormones and productivity 😁 . We workshopped how to tap into different phases of the menstrual cycle to maximise our performance at work. And if you think this sounds woo woo, think again! There's a large (and growing) body of research showing how our energy, cognition, strength, confidence and motivation as women changes throughout the menstrual cycle. These fluctuations DON'T make us less productive. In fact, according to research from the University of Melbourne, women on the birth control experienced six times LESS motivation and drive compared to their naturally cycling counterparts. That's pretty significant! So turning our hormones off isn't the answer. Instead, we need to learn how to work with our natural rhythms so we can smash it at work. Thank you Meghan Sinclair Zaina Ishaq Alyx Gregory and Ellen Riis-White for organising! FUTURE WOMAN #hormones #productivity #femtech
