  • AXIAL ELASTICITY TEST STATION LANBI provides a complete package of production & testing equipment for our Steering & Suspension customers, including all kinds of different testing machines that are needed to confirm that the most demanding specifications are met. Just recently several axial elasticity testing machines have been delivered to a prominent Steering & Suspension parts producer located worldwide. These machines are equipped with the latest technologies that allow force & position loop control to be able to measure axial end play within 2-3µm deviation with all kind of possibilities to adjust force and test speed.   • BALL STUD MANUFACTURING CELLS LANBI has recently delivered to European customers two full Ball Stud Manufacturing Cells. Starting from the blank automatic feeding, the ball studs are turned in two steps: Shank machining and Ball machining. At the second step the ball is cut and burnished in polar coordinates, getting a perfect ball surface finishing, far below Rz 1. Once the part is machined, a full dimensional control is done and thanks to these values, the CNC offsets are automatically corrected. Then a robot handles the stud into a rolling machine and the thread is rolled. Finally, after a cleaning process, the part is fully inspected: thread control, crack control (shank and ball areas) and torx presence. NOK parts are automatically rejected and OK parts are palletized in boxes. The output of the line is in less than 9 seconds per part, and all the performance and maintenance information can be monitored online thanks to LANBI Digital platform. #balljoint #balllstud

  • LANBI has recently delivered a complete installation for a North American Chassis manufacturing company. Automated with Fanuc robots, this line assembles the ball joint on the suspension arm, as well as two bushings. Small components are fed through bowl feeders and the ball joint is assembled on a rotary table, while the bushings are mounted on a double electric press. All the necessary controls are carried out at the facility and uploaded to the traceability system to ensure a product of the highest quality. #controlarm

    BALL STUD REINFORCEMENT LANBI has recently finished an internal R+D test for ball studs. The intent was to increase the fatigue life of ball studs, for example in lower control arms. During that test several different radial block loads had been applied – until failure! Specimens with the special LANBI treatment® had lasting about x5 times longer than standard types of specimen without the treatment. The real goals that our customer can achieve now: - Longer lasting ball studs in order to have them performing more robust - Down-sizing the dimensions of the ball stud and therefore of the ball joint assembly in order to reduce weight and cost.
