The #LIFERESEAU team, represented by memers of this company, ITG Technology Center and VCS Denmark, traveled to Vigo (Spain) to review the status of the actions carried out during the last 6 months and study the next steps. 💧 The proximity between Aqualia’s headquarters and the Moaña Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) allowed the team to also visit this spot, where LIFE RESEAU has just launched a pilot project (more information soon, stay tuned!) 💻 🌳 Yesterday we had the pleasure of attending the seminar “Conservation and ecosystem services of #forests”, organized by #LifeSilfore. This initiative is driven by NEIKER BRTA, #AGACAL, Instituto Politécnico de Bragança, Universidade de Santiago de Compostela and Servicio Regional de Investigación y Desarrollo Agroalimentario (SERIDA), and it focuses on the conservation of #biodiversity, and the protection and restoration of ecosystem services in European forests. 🔍 During the event, the key aspects of LIFE SILFORE were presented, but also those of LIFE VAIA, #LifeC2M, and #LifeURBASO, which share the same objective as LIFE RESEAU. It was great to learn about their roadmaps for the preservation of the environment, and adaptation to climate change, from other areas than those addressed by us. Thank you for the invitation!

On November 7th, our colleague from Aqualia, Jose Ramon Vazquez Padin, participated as a speaker in a #webinar organised by Fundación Innovación Bankinter. According to UNICEF, around 1 billion children globally face extreme risks due to climate-related impacts. Natural hazards like earthquakes and hurricanes can turn into disasters when combined with vulnerability and insufficient prevention measures. On October 13th, the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction focus on how global efforts aim to reduce exposure to such risks. This year’s theme, “Empowering the Next Generation for a Resilient Future,” highlights the critical role of education in safeguarding our future. At LIFE Reseau, we’re addressing these challenges by retrofitting wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) and reducing infiltration in sewer networks. Our mission is to prevent overflows during storms, protecting both the environment and public health. 🤝 Collaboration among researchers is the foundation of scientific progress!
