🌊 Happy Friday, everyone! Continuing the partner introduction series we are happy to introduce the Bursa Teknik Üniversitesi (BTU). 😊 Bursa Technical University (BTU), established in 2010, is a public institution located in the historic city of Bursa, Türkiye. BTU offers educational programs through six faculties, a graduate school, and a school of foreign languages. The university provides a diverse range of accredited undergraduate and graduate programs in science, technology, and engineering. 🎓 The research team at BTU primarily focuses on the social science aspects of #MEDSEAPLAN, exploring and analyzing state-of-the-art MSP practices in Türkiye while aiming to facilitate and foster a collaborative, scenario-based planning approach for the Gemlik Bay region. As we dive into the weekend, we're thrilled to launch a new series of posts to introduce the 15 incredible partners of the #MEDSEAPLAN project. 🚀 Today, we spotlight the Malta College of Arts, Science, and Technology (MCAST). Leading the communication and dissemination work package in MEDSEAPLAN, MCAST is playing a pivotal role in advancing #MarineSpatialPlanning in #Malta. 🌐 Their contributions extend to developing an #OceanLiteracy training program and assessing ocean literacy gaps within the MSP framework. This role offers the chance to engage in significant efforts to enhance #OceanLiteracy, #MaritimeSpatialPlanning and #SustainableBlueEconomy practices across the #Mediterranean. 🌍 As we wrap up another busy week, there's a lot going on behind the scenes at MEDSEAPLAN! 🌍 ☀️We are planning an exciting workshop in Cyprus in March, aiming to harness our collective expertise to propel sustainable #MarineSpatialPlanning for the #BlueEconomy forward across the #Mediterranean ☀️ 🌟📅We'll get together to deliver a comparative analysis of MSP in Mediterranean countries as it pertains to the #SustainableBlueEconomy. We'll focus on reviewing data types and sources, enhancing stakeholder engagement through participatory tools like geoportals, and assessing the adequacy of data for addressing the region's unique challenges. 🔍 Our goal is to evaluate whether current data supports effective scenario planning and meets the needs of data-poor sectors throughout the Mediterranean. 🛠️ Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to push forward.
