We are thrilled to welcome Helena Catalán to the PredictBy team! 🎉 Helena is a highly accomplished Research Consultant specializing in global health governance. With an MSc in Global Governance and Diplomacy from the University of Oxford, she brings a wealth of expertise in public health, stakeholder communication, and data collection strategies, particularly in the context of EU-funded health and digital innovation projects. Her impressive career journey includes roles as Program Manager at Conexus, where she managed EU-funded gender equality programs, and as a Research Assistant at both the University of Chicago and the University of Oxford, focusing on urbanization and health with a gender perspective. Helena also has experience as a Policy Analyst at I2 Social Impact Investing and as a Head Hunter at Russell Reynolds Associates. In addition to her professional achievements, Helena graduated Cum Laude in Global Studies with a minor in Gender Studies from Universitat Pompeu Fabra and is currently pursuing a Master's in Planetary Health from UOC, UPF, and IS Global. Her academic interests include public health and the socioeconomic and gender implications of climate change. Outside of her professional life, Helena is passionate about sports, nature, listening to podcasts and contributing to projects that make a real-world impact. 🌍 Welcome, Helena! Tackling today’s complex challenges requires behavioural insights to complement other scientific evidence, helping policymakers understand decision-making contexts and design more effective policies and policy interventions.   🚀 At PredictBy, we are at the forefront of applying behavioural insights into research and policy, contributing to evidence-based studies that drive systemic change. The European Health Data Space (#EHDS) is almost here! 🚀 While there's still plenty of work ahead, the Regulation will soon be entering into force, marking a major step forward.   This week, we had the privilege of attending the General Assembly of the Health Data Access Bodies Community of Practice in Malta. It was an incredible opportunity to present as part of the Capacity Building Team and share our progress on the development of the training materials, toolkit, and the HDAB Maturity Model, that will support the community in the implementation of the #EHDS for secondary use.    After all the hard work, it was truly rewarding to engage with the Community of Practice members and exchange insights. We are excited to share the publication of the study “𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗛𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗨 𝗖𝗼𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆”, conducted at the request of the ITRE Committee of the European Parliament. This report provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of synergies between the two main EU funds supporting R&I, and the key drivers and barriers shaping their realisation. 📖 This work would not have been possible without the invaluable contributions of interviewees from various R&I institutions and regions across Europe.
