🇬🇧 Wonderful memories of the 10th anniversary of Pro Weekend Fest, which we had the pleasure of presenting internationally this weekend in Glasgow during the Scottish Alternative Music Awards (where we've partnered to present 2024's winner of the rock/alternative category!). The good times have just begun to be prepared for 2025, the 11th edition of Pro Weekend Fest in Castellón. 🗓️ 15-18 OCTOBER 2025 Stay tuned. My last collaboration with Music Export Ukraine marked my 6th year with the organization, and I couldn't be more proud of what we've achieved together over these years ♥️ This time, I worked on the production of three video explainers for the pilot (experimental, even!) music incubator for Ukrainian emerging artists and professionals. The goal is to strengthen their projects and build a solid foundation for their first international music business interactions. I'm super honoured to have such brilliant legends as our experts: 💫 Anika Mottershaw covered Music Distribution & Release Promotion: all things tools, platforms, metadata, timelines, and marketing strategies for a successful music release. 💫 Jess Partridge shared all the tips for Showcase Festivals & Networking: preparing for export, finding the right event, expanding the network, mental health, and productive follow-ups. 💫 Patrick Joest explained Music Licensing & Sync: types of income, PROs, gatekeepers, media types, sync deals, and where to find them. *All materials were translated and subtitled in Ukrainian to enhance accessibility. I'm endlessly grateful for all our experts' contributions to this little endeavour, which has real potential to empower many Ukrainian music minds. 🎥 Additional thanks to Valentyna Rodzevska for making the filming and editing process smooth and seamless. P.S. Organizing recording of two speakers in Spanish Castellón during the Pro Weekend Fest definitely added some fun to the process! Turning the page on this chapter with 2024 now, and quite anxiously (but firmly) looking into the future 👀

The 10th anniversary of ProWeekend in the beautiful Castellon de la Plana was a great experience. Thank you to everyone who came to see our show and didn't run off when we walked off stage into the room <3 ! Thank you to the Berklee Valencia students, and to the delegates, who also came to see me and Dorotėja Būdaitė talk about the #Europeanmusicbusinesstaskforce and Music Cities Network. Thank you to all the new and old friends - it was a pleasure to see you again/meet you. Only a week later that same region of Spain was hit by the floods - it felt so strange to learn about this in the middle of the Act in Synch summit in Athens, discussing climate crisis with some of the most renouned organizations working with sustainability in music. If you want to help - look for a trusted charity or get in touch with local friends (or my local friends, or someone elses' friends) to get recommendations. My first Pro Weekend Fest was an absolute blast! ✨ Last week the Berklee Valencia GEMB class headed to Castéllon together for conferences and concerts in the October sunshine. It was amazing to learn first hand from influential voices in our industry. From learning about sync with Everton Lewis, Jr. to creative social media campaigns with Ana Castillo, my notebook is filled up! It was great to see fellow Canadian Marilyne Lacombe and discover Montréal based MOTHLAND, as well as hear about the work of Andy Jones & Richy Muirhead in my beloved UK rock'n'roll market. It was an awesome event topped off by a keynote from Daryl Bamonte and a set by #debdepan, one of the bands he manages. We owe a huge thank you to our professor Grace Puluczek for bringing together the beach, great live music in the form of a conference, won't forget that one anytime soon! #proweekend #livemusic #festival #conference #castellon

Tegoroczna, jubileuszowa 10. edycja hiszpańskiego Pro Weekend Fest była prawdziwym świętem muzyki i muzycznej społeczności! To ogromna przyjemność, że po raz drugi mogłam reprezentować w Castellon de la Plana Klub Stodoła w gronie delegatów i profesjonalistów z branży z całego świata – z Europy, Azji, obu Ameryk. Wspaniale było móc zobaczyć znajome twarze, nawiązać nowe kontakty, wziąć udział ciekawych panelach, a także złapać mnóstwo nowych muzycznych inspiracji! Zachwycił mnie brutal pop w wydaniu niesamowitej SUN, energetyczny band Dictator, mroczne melodyjne brzmienie dziewczyn z debdepan, hiszpański De Fem, a także fenomenalny akustyczny występ duetu Eliën x Jorge da Rocha. Wspaniale było także po raz kolejny usłyszeć niezwykle utalentowaną Nadia Sheikh! Last but not least, gdy do grona twoich muzycznych znajomych dołącza legendarny producent, muzyk i wieloletni bliski współpracownik Depeche Mode oraz The Cure, a przede wszystkim serdeczny i przesympatyczny człowiek, Daryl Bamonte, to znak, że impreza była naprawdę epicka. :) ¡Muchas gracias, Pro Weekend Fest! ¡Sois los mejores! --- This year’s special 10th anniversary edition of the Spanish Pro Weekend Fest was a true celebration of music and the music community! It was a great pleasure to represent Klub Stodoła in Castellón de la Plana for the second time, among delegates and industry professionals from all over the world – from Europe, Asia, and both Americas. It was wonderful to see familiar faces, make new connections, attend interesting panels, and gather plenty of new musical inspirations! I was captivated by the brutal pop of the amazing SUN, the energetic band Dictator, the dark melodic sound of the girls from debdepan, the Spanish band De Fem, and the phenomenal acoustic performance of the Eliën x Jorge da Rocha duo. It was also fantastic to once again hear the incredibly talented Nadia Sheikh! Last but not least, when a legendary producer, musician, and long-time close collaborator of Depeche Mode and The Cure, and above all, a warm and incredibly kind person, Daryl Bamonte, joins your circle of musical contacts, it's a sign that the party was truly epic. :) ¡Muchas gracias, Pro Weekend Fest! ¡Sois los mejores!

We had such a busy yet fun and productive time last week out in Pro Weekend Fest in Castellón for their extra special tenth edition! 🇪🇸 Pitch Scotland & Scottish Alternative Music Awards held a reception/networking lunch, gave a little overview on Scottish market, and presented acts Dictator, Psweatpants, and Parliamo! I think my personal highlight may have been seeing Dictator collaborating live on stage with Castellón rapper Kawak (who they met at PITCH earlier in the year, when he performed in Glasgow) to a packed out venue on the Saturday night! I would like to thank Miguel Ángel Borja Cortés & the team for their passion, coordination and dedication to making this partnership work, and also to Creative Scotland & PRS Foundation. If anyone is at SAY Award (presented by Scottish Music Industry Association (SMIA) tonight in Stirling do come say hello! I am very much looking forward to a night of celebrating more talent from across Scotland.
