Today, we share with you this video about ocean plastic pollution awareness, created by one of the members of the SEAQUAL COMMUNITY Camira 🌊 ✊
🌊 Today is Ocean's Plastic Day. 🌊 According to the United Nations, humans produce 300 million tonnes of plastic waste every year, including 11 million tonnes that eventually end up in the ocean. In fact, by 2050, there could be more plastic than fish in our seas. 🐟 Our partnership with the SEAQUAL INITIATIVE sees us create post-consumer recycled polyester fabrics, Quest and Oceanic, which save more than 20 plastic bottles from the ocean, with each metre of fabric woven. Waste made wonderful, these beautiful textiles transform the most resilient of materials into a fabric as fluid as the waves...

🌊Discover the Hidden Biodiversity of Cap de Creus Today, we’re diving into the incredible underwater world of the Mediterranean at Cap de Creus, inspired by the insightful talk from Ponç Feliu during the Ocean Talks at last week’s CLEANUP. Did you know this marine paradise is home to a fascinating variety of species? 🐬 Bottlenose Dolphin (Tursiops truncatus) – The playful and intelligent marine mammal 🐢 Loggerhead Sea Turtle (Caretta caretta) – A majestic ocean wanderer ☘ Noble Pen Shell (Pinna nobilis) – One of the Mediterranean’s largest and most endangered mollusks 🔴 Red Coral (Corallium rubrum) – A vibrant gem of the Mediterranean Sea 🌱 Posidonia Oceanica – An underwater meadow vital for marine life and oxygen production 🌾 Cymodocea sp. & Zostera Marina – Essential seagrass beds that nurture marine ecosystems This biodiversity highlights the unique balance of life thriving in Cap de Creus. It’s a reminder of why protecting these ecosystems is crucial—for the sea, for us, and for future generations. Have you ever explored the underwater world of Cap de Creus? Let us know in the comments! 📸 Picture © Laia Sabate #CapDeCreus #MediterraneanBiodiversity #OceanTalks #SEAQUALCleanup #MarineLife
