Vulkano Padel Tournament 2024!🎾 Last week's tournament was an absolute blast, full of energy, team spirit, and some good competition! Each team showed their incredible skills and sportsmanship for the trophy. A huge thank you to the amazing players who came out to make this event a memorable night. And of course, a special congratulations to our tournament champions Miguel Cordero Álvarez and Ayim Manuel de la Fuente. Vulkano is thrilled to welcome our newest fall intern, Odalys Caballero! Odalys is a third-year Marketing and Communications double major at Trinity University who is currently studying abroad in IES Madrid. At Vulkano, she will be responsible for the branding strategies of our upcoming projects, creating content for media platforms, and expanding our professional presence. In her free time, she enjoys photography, playing volleyball, and trying new coffee shops. When asked about her experience so far she stated that “everyone is so welcoming and willing to help you learn. I love that I am able to expand my knowledge on a new industry that’s beyond my major.” Odalys described Vulkano as visionary not only because of its creative and cutting edge work but also for its innovative solutions in the industry. We are excited for the new projects and fun activities she will be a part of during her internship!

Vulkano is thrilled to welcome our newest fall intern, Timauri-Lee Carby! Timauri is a third-year electrical engineering student at Rice University. At Vulkano, she will be responsible for tracking environmental data collected by our solar tracker sensors using Python, as well as developing algorithms to predict potential failures in panels. In her free time, Timauri enjoys reading, thrifting for unique finds, and collecting music CDs and vinyl records. When asked about her experience so far she stated, “there are so many different things I can work on at any time - I have the chance to learn a lot! I also really love the culture here; everyone is really friendly.” Timauri described Vulkano as an innovative organization, due to its culture of constant growth and creative problem-solving. We believe Timauri will be a fantastic addition to our team and we are excited to see the amazing contributions she will make during her internship!

Great summer news! 🌞 The progress report on the implementation of renewable energy (solar/wind) in the European Union for the first half of this year has just been published. The report, signed by the group of energy and climate expert analysts Ember, reveals a big surprise: for the first time in EU history, renewable energies have outpaced fossil fuels! 🚀🔋 In fact, we have two reasons to celebrate. Despite the increase in energy demand, renewable energy production has grown by 30%, and surprisingly, fossil fuel consumption has decreased by 17%. In Spain, this decrease has been even more pronounced, reaching 33%. 🌍 However, Ember experts point out that maintaining this pace of the energy transition in the EU will require a dedicated political approach to remove barriers to the integration of wind and solar energy. Adequate support for grid connections and other rapid development enablers will be crucial to ensuring that economic, security, and climate benefits are delivered across Europe. ⚡️🌿 What do you think? Vulkano is proud to introduce our amazing team. Seventh in this series is Anna McCormack, our Marketing Intern. At Vulkano, Anna creates social media content using digital marketing tools to promote our company. Anna is pursuing a double major in Marketing and Spanish at Trinity University. This summer, Anna is studying abroad in Madrid, and we are excited to have her on our team. Before joining Vulkano, Anna worked as the Corporate Marketing Coordinator at Wholesale Electric Supply Co. of Houston, Inc. and currently works as a Campus Manager for South By Sea. In her free time, Anna enjoys trivia with her sorority Chi Beta Epsilon, playing pickleball and tennis, and spending time with her friends. We asked Anna what her favorite part about being an intern at Vulkano is: “I have loved working at Vulkano! The team has welcomed me into their community, teaching me not only about their technological services, but also how to effectively demonstrate and promote those services across various media platforms!”

For the second year in a row, Vulkano⚡was present at Asociación Nacional de CEEIs (ANCES) OPEN INNOVATION awards ceremony 🎉 On this instance, we did not participate in any company’s challenge, but we were part of the open innovation round table -startup's perspective- with Ayim Manuel de la Fuente 💡 During the discussion, we highlighted the importance of programs like ANCES OPEN INNOVATION, which act as a bridge for many tech startups with disruptive products to solve challenges and problems faced by large corporations. We also talked about the importance of corporates having team members who advocate for innovation and understand the specific needs of startups, enabling fruitful and long-term collaboration.🤝 Notable examples are Ormazabal, with Koldo Atxutegi, or CAPSA FOOD with Rubén Hidalgo, demonstrating how collaboration and open innovation can create impactful opportunities and solutions in their companies. 🚀 It was a pleasure to see many familiar faces again. 🌱🌞 #Innovation and #Sustainability in the #Solar Sector 🚫 Italy has just banned the installation of large-scale photovoltaic plants on agricultural land. This decision protects land designated for agriculture, allowing only the integration of agrivoltaic projects, which combine energy production with agriculture sustainably, presenting benefits for both. 🌾⚡ At Vulkano, we support the vision of a future where technology and sustainability go hand in hand, as demonstrated by our first prize from the National Association of CEEIs (ANCES) at last year's ANCES OPEN INNOVATION, where we designed an innovative and sustainable irrigation system that can be integrated into the SF7 solar tracker. 🤔💡 What do you think about this measure?
