For an early-stage startup, team building is one of the crucial steps in going further. Often a founder/CEO enters our pre-incubator programme with the aim of finding the right people to complete the team. Sometimes, and especially in research-based business concepts, the setting might be different. The product or business concept might be there but the team might be in the need of a business developer/CEO. In this video, we introduce an example of a research-based business idea where the team is looking for a team leader to join the project and take the business development to the next stage, while they focus on developing the product. Hannu Jarvensivu and Antti Ruotoistenmäki took part in last spring’s pre-incubator programme. In this video they introduce the Emotion Measurement System (EMS). If you are interested in joining the EMS project as a team leader, contact: antti.ruotoistenmaki@aalto.fi. Aalto Creatives is Aalto University's #campusincubator. Welcoming our new ADC pre-incubator participants! This autumn’s creative industry pre-incubator program launched in the beginning of October with the onboarding of twelve new teams from diverse sectors of the creative industries. The teams’ startup ideas relate to fashion, extended reality, design, architecture, digital modeling, makerspaces, gamification, film industry, AI, and interactive art. During the 11 weeks, the teams will engage in weekly workshops to refine and validate their ideas. These sessions will equip them with important skills to convert their early-stage ideas into viable business models. To address the different levels of readiness and the wide range of ideas, the teams receive one-to-one coaching from business advisors. In the sixth semester this autumn, the Aalto Digital Creatives program will conclude and transition into the Aalto Creatives pre-incubator program, which will launch in January. The rebranding involves removing the word "digital" from the program's name to broaden its appeal to all sectors of the creative industry. The intention is to encourage more projects from fields such as fashion and new materials. Read more about the new batch and the future of Aalto Digital Creatives program: https://lnkd.in/dSdQy_ze

ADC pre-incubator project and the winner of the Wood U Innovate -innovation competition 2023 Bubbles with Benefits is now on display at the Designs for a Cooler Planet festival in Marsio (Otakaari 2A). Bubbles with Benefits is financed with research-to-business funding by Business Finland. Similar to bubble wrap in many features, Bubbles with Benefits innovation is cellulose-based and biodegradable. Sustainable sealed air packaging material (bubble and foam wrap) provides the benefits of sealed air packaging material without harming the environment. It is completely plastic-free, non-toxic, and biodegradable, and low cost. It does not contribute to the current microplastic crisis as it is cellulose-based and dissolves in water. https://lnkd.in/gn5Xz5Kx
