📢 We are back! And today we want to share you a new deliverable - the Project Quality Management Plan (PQMP) ❓What is the Project Quality Management Plan (PQMP) ❓ The PQMP is our essential guide for managing and maintaining quality throughout the project’s lifecycle. Designed for the entire project consortium, it provides a comprehensive overview of project information, key contacts, management structures, guidelines, templates, and procedures. It also covers quality and risk management, publication processes, and financial management, ensuring a structured approach to achieving project goals. Aligned with the European Commission guidelines and the Grant/Consortium Agreements, the PQMP highlights critical sections without replacing these documents. It is a living document, regularly updated to remain accurate, with the latest version available in the project’s shared workspace. While the public version excludes sensitive data, project members have access to a complete version in the shared workspace. This plan is particularly valuable for Horizon Europe projects, where effective management tools are essential. 🌟 You can find this deliverable here: https://lnkd.in/dwwcWwgj Happy reading! #Bioassembler #ProjectManagement #HorizonEurope #QualityManagement

Integrating bioinspired assembly into semiconductor manufacturing technology for biosensors. HE funded project-101070589
About us
The sustainable transformation of traditional manufacturing systems is critical for the societies of the future. Climate change and increasing resource use require the emergence of innovative bio-smart solutions. However, the innovation environment needs to take into account the impacts of new technologies on economic and social systems. BIOASSEMBLER - Integrating bio-inspired assembly into semiconductor manufacturing technology for biosensors project will develop a bio-inspired assembly technology for scalable manufacturing of silicon-based label free multiplex biosensors in semiconductor fabrication platforms. Focusing on the development of these technologies and how they will contribute to the transformation of the semiconductor industry, BIOASSEMBLER mobilises expertise from the Social Sciences and Humanities in the social and economic assessment of these technological innovations to foster the project's potential to establish sustainable innovation principles, while enabling the transformation of industry in the EU and the sustainable promotion of value creation. The project will also develop innovative strategies for a science-society linkage to engage different social actors - e.g. environmentalists, farmers, students, policy makers - contributing to the advancement of science policies and a more informed society. | This project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 101070589. This document reflects the views only of the authors, and the Commission cannot be held responsible for any use which may be made of the information contained therein.|

After DNA zipcoding, it's time to talk about DNA synthesis 🧬 📌 And we have a new deliverable to share! Scaling up the optical system for #photolithographic #DNA synthesis to support wafer-scale production is a major challenge in BioAssembler. This demands an optical system capable of precise spatial control to selectively illuminate targeted positions on the wafer surface. Dive into the details of our #innovative prototype system - developed by the project to address these challenges - here: https://lnkd.in/dHeQMbqd VTT Universität Wien Abcalis GmbH Jobst Technologies GmbH - an IST AG company Biomensio Ltd CES | Centro de Estudos Sociais da Universidade de Coimbra

Back to Work Package 4 - DNA Zipcoding 🧬 🎉 And to another deliverable published! This time, our colleagues at Universität Wien and VTT focused on the #DNA-guided self-assembly of #proteins methodology. They have tested some strategies for designing DNA Zipcodes to be used in the novel multiplex #biosensor developed within BioAssembler. Designing specific DNA sequences that, when attached to proteins, can guide their assembly on surfaces functionalized with the complementary oligos (#zipcodes) is crutial in this type of devices. While this approach offers great potential for precision and efficiency in biosensing, it comes with its own set of challenges. In this deliverable, our colleagues share the key results from hybridization experiments with candidate sequences, addressing limitations such as cross-hybridization and outlining steps for optimization and future research. Curious to learn more? Dive into the findings here: https://lnkd.in/dFzhthn4

🎯 We've made exciting progress in the photolithographic synthesis of #DNA that we're using for the BioAssembler biosensor! We now have a new protocol for the direct photolithographic DNA synthesis on wafer surfaces. And best of all? All stages of the process work perfectly with the materials designed for our #biosensor. Under current conditions, we can add each DNA ‘building block’ in just around 1.8 minutes. ⏳ But we're not stopping there - we're focusing on making the process faster and more efficient. 💡 For example, we're exploring new materials to make DNA more stable on the surface, which is particularly important when DNA needs to pair with other molecules for long periods. Our colleagues at Universität Wien have done a great job! Read all about this development here: https://lnkd.in/dZp2hy_J

More about our Meeting!
Wonderful Vienna was the location of our second Bioassembler consortium meeting. Yes, coffee ☕ in all its variants, magnificient buildings 🏯 , the reason for low rental costs, details to the three only original austrian dishes 🍰 , we consumed and learned a lot. Beside the discussion of progress and potential delays of our Bioassembler Work packages we took a look into the future and outlined the application field of biosensor devices in the context of diagnostics in our health systems (and maybe it was a little bit disillusioning). The project benefits not only from many excellent engineers and life science researchers but also from our socioeconomic researchers from CES. And inspired by our scientific advisors Electra Gizeli and Klaus-Peter Stengele we realized that approaching the society and the "normal" people should be one of our major tasks. Thanks to Gisela Ibanez and Mark Somoza for hosting us, thank you to all the consortium members for the good discussion and work within the last year and we are looking forward to meeting you in Vienna again next year. Do you consider yourself as a "normal" person? What is your definition of a biosensor, is there a unique meaning? Is a lateral flow test a biosensor or is it not? #VTT #Bioassembler #UniVie #JobstTechnologies #Biomensio #AnimalfreeAntibodies #EuropeanResearch
