🚀 Spotlight on Innovation with RoboAI 🔧 🤝 We recently collaborated with the talented RoboAI team from Satakunta University of Applied Sciences - SAMK and Tampere University (TUNI) to advance automation and robotics. 🤖 This effort is part of the RoboAI Industry initiative, where cutting-edge technology and expertise in AI and robotics meet to solve industrial challenges. For this project, the Cavitar Ltd. Welding Camera C400 was mounted on an ABB collaborative robot (cobot) operated by Juha Mainio from ABB. The cobot performed a basic fillet weld at an impressive speed of 7 mm/s. 🚨 Why Does the TIG Arc Struggle? 🚨 We wish you a happy and productive #Monday. In industrial settings, #pipes can sometimes become #magnetized due to various factors, and this poses a serious challenge for #TIG welding. When working with a magnetic field, TIG welding can face significant #stability issues, as the #arc struggles to maintain its usual path. But why? The arc relies on a stable electrical flow between the #tungsten electrode and the workpiece. When a strong magnetic field is present, it can pull or push the arc, diverting it from the #meltpool and resulting in poor #penetration, #inconsistent welds, and even a complete failure to start the arc in extreme cases. 👷 In this fascinating TIG process, watch the difference as we switch between normal welding and a weld influenced by a magnetic field. Thanks to Cavitar Welding Camera, You are able to see how challenging it is to focus the arc in the canter under a magnetic pull and the immediate return to stability once the field is removed. 💡 This is why specific skills and equipment are needed when welding around magnets or in environments with strong magnetic fields.
