💚 FCA #Syria has distributed 590 dignity kits to displaced Lebanese women at the Al-Horjeleh Collective Shelter in Damascus. These kits, containing sanitary pads, a wastebasket, soap, and underwear, are essential for maintaining hygiene and dignity in challenging circumstances. This comes in light of the emergency response to Lebanese refugees in Syria. 🧕🏽 Supporting women in conflict zones is crucial. Etab Al-Ghadban was displaced from Beirut to Syria. Despite her home being severely damaged, Etab remains hopeful and actively participates in dialogue sessions focusing on women's issues. She dreams of rebuilding her home with her husband, Abu Ali, and wishes for her daughter to complete her university education. Abbas, 9 months old, was displaced with his mother from Baalbek to Syria. His father remained in Baalbek and has not seen him for 85 days. 🇯🇴 Over 60 per cent of Jordan’s population are under 30, like Ammar, a refugee from #Syria. Of youth aged 15-30, a third are unemployed, according to UNICEF. 🇱🇧 Our support to displaced people in #Lebanon continues. Through our partnership with War Child and LOST (The Lebanese Organization for Studies and Training) we're helping people displaced by military strikes in southern Lebanon. This includes: 💚 Distributing food and hygiene kits to people in displacement shelters 💚 Recreation activities with children 💚 Assessing people for psychological support needs A total of 1,130 individuals were reached through the distribution of food kits and households received 235 hygiene kits to households. Menstrual Hygiene kits were also provided to 410 girls and women. 300 individuals have also been reached through through Psychological First Aid (PFA) and 420 children are receiving Child Protection Psychosocial Support activities. ❗️Ukraine's children are living through the 1000th day of war since Russia invaded in 2022. Lives have been upended and there is no 'normal' life, due to constant attacks. UNICEF estimates that at least 16 children are killed or injured every week. 🇱🇧 FCA is working with partners War Child and LOST (The Lebanese Organization for Studies and Training) in the Beqaa Valley to support people displaced by military strikes in southern #Lebanon. Emergency response includes providing meals, clothes, hygiene items as well as psychosocial support for children and adults. 💚 Photos show our partners at LOST preparing food packages, putting up contact posters for feedback or complaints and a ‘door-to-door’ sessions, where the team meets with families and individuals to hear how people are feeling. When they identify whether further psychological support is needed. FCA is proud to have supported 22 talented individuals through the #Ready4It training at the FCA Solutions Centre and Refactory Academy Uganda. Students are now equipped with JAVA and SQL skills and ready to seize tech job opportunities in Italy.   This initiative is under our Labour Mobility Pathways and supported by UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, Diaconia Valdese, Refactory and Talent Beyond Boundaries. It demonstrates the power of public-private collaboration in creating pathways for refugees. Refactory, as the skilling partner, provided an intensive week of hands-on training in Database Systems and SQL. Diaconia Valdese supported the initiative with Italian language training as Finn Church Aid, together with UNHCR, supported coordination, logistical support for meals and accommodation, case management, and career counselling.
