Fondita’s Portfolio Manager Janna Haahtela shared her thoughts and expertise as a panelist at Nordnet Bank AB Female Network's event, “Kestävää Kasvua” (Sustainable Growth).  

Our Portfolio Manager Marcus Björksten participated in a panel at the yearly seminar organized by Finsif (Finland's sustainable investment forum). The topic of discussion in the panel was how investors should take climate related issues into account when making their investment decisions. This years Finsif:s annual seminar was extremely interesting and exceptionally topical, not least because of the turn the US is possibly taking regarding climate- and environment-related policies. We are glad to inform that Fondita’s Board of Directors has appointed Patrik Wickström as CEO. Patrik has extensive industry experience and has worked at Fondita since 2002. During this time he has held leading positions in various administrative functions such as the company’s compliance function, risk management function and back office function. Our Portfolio Manager Janna Haahtela will be a panelist at Nordnet Female Network's upcoming event, “Kestävää Kasvua” (Sustainable Growth) The event will take place on the 14th of November at Nordnet headquarters in Helsinki.   Nordnet Bank AB also recently interviewed Janna on their blog. Janna highlights how diversity within portfolio management teams adds value, with women bringing strategic risk management and long-term thinking to investment decisions. Although women represent only 5% of portfolio managers in Finland, Haahtela sees positive momentum toward change.   As lead portfolio manager for Fondita Healthcare and Fondita Global Megatrends, Haahtela oversees funds that invest in sustainable growth companies in three structurally growing megatrends. Namely in healthcare, technology and climate- and environmentally smart companies. Haahtela advocates for equity funds as an efficient, low-barrier way to enter the stock market. Investors benefit from professionally managed portfolios, good liquidity which makes it easy to buy and sell and from the ability to diversify across themes and regions. Her core advice? Simply make the decision to start investing today. Regular monthly investing is easy, and diversification over time also reduces risks and balance market fluctuations. The autumn is always characterized with investor conferences and roadshows. So far our portfolio managers have attended Carnegie's Nordic Small Cap conference in Stockholm, Nordea's Healthcare and Med Tech trip in Copenhagen and Berenberg’s German Conference in Munich. All in all 37 company meetings and some general presentations. In the coming months we will attend Berenberg's European Conference and Jefferies Healthcare conference in London as well as Danske Bank's Nordic Winter seminar in Copenhagen.   Always great to meet up with companies (both portfolio holdings as well as potential ones), talk to the management and IR professionals and get a feeling of where we stand both regarding current trading and future visions. #fonditafunds #portfoliomanagement

Fondita Finland Micro Cap was ranked among the top three Finnish equity funds (out of 22) on the Finnish investor platform Sijoittaja.fi. The fund was noted for its consistent historical performance and was distinguished for delivering strong returns with relatively low risk.
