Jaakko is not only a promising player but also a great example of what local commitment and support can achieve. In our latest video, we take a glimpse into the stories of both Jaakko and his father, Jari. Jari has worked at Kurikka Timber as a wheel loader operator for over nine years and is a professional in his field. He shares his thoughts on the importance of companies supporting young people in achieving their goals, whether in competitive sports or hobbies. Thank you, Jaakko and Jari, for your inspiring words – we are proud to share this journey with you!

Childrens’s Day at Work 2024: Welcome to an introduction to working life! Today, our office was buzzing with excitement, laughter, and a little bit of nervous energy. 🌟 Children’s Day at Work gave children the chance to peek into the world of work and finally see what their parents are up to “at the work” – while giving us adults the opportunity to see our jobs through fresh eyes. Kids have a unique way of asking the questions we may have stopped asking ourselves: “Why do you do it this way?” or “Couldn’t this be more fun?” 🌟 Their curiosity and creativity reminded us that there are always different ways to look at things – and that sometimes the simplest solution is the best. During the day: 🔍 The children explored the workplace environment 💡 They offered fresh ideas and thought-provoking questions 🤝 Together, we learned the value of pausing to wonder and reflect Days like this are not only fun but also help build bridges across generations. Who knows – among these young visitors, we might just have met future colleagues, leaders, and innovators! ✨ Thank you to everyone who participated, especially Assi, Onni, Elli and Lennu, for making this day so special. 🖍️🎨📊 #LapsetMukaanTöihin

An Inspiring Visit to Kurikka Timber with Minister of Employment Arto Satonen! It was a pleasure to welcome 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗻 to Kurikka Timber, where he explored our operations and engaged in discussions about the current challenges and opportunities in the wood and manufacturing industries. Members of Parliament Sinuhe Wallinheimo and Riitta Mäkinen also joined us for the visit. Minister Satonen highlighted essential perspectives on how we can collaboratively enhance the competitiveness of Finnish labor and ensure the education and availability of future talent. During the visit, we presented our company's operations, showcasing our growth, commitment to sustainability, use of domestic wood raw materials, and ongoing process development. We also discussed the challenges related to workforce availability and the significance of our industry for employment and export revenue - especially as wood, as a material, increasingly aligns with sustainability demands. It’s encouraging to see that the importance of supporting an innovative and sustainable wood industry is understood at the government level. We want to express our gratitude to NorDan Norge for trusting us and for our strong partnership over the years. We look forward to continuing to work together and delivering top-notch products. Thank you for your valued collaboration!
Wood from Finland stories 🌲💡 NORDAN HAS RELIED ON KURIKKA TIMBER’S QUALITY FOR NEARLY 30 YEARS NorDan is one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of windows, doors and related smart accessories. As one of NorDan’s most important partners, Kurikka Timber supplies wood profiles for NorDan’s factories in Norway, Sweden and Poland. NorDan wanted to specifically find a Nordic raw material producer and, after a few discussions, Kurikka Timber and NorDan started their collaboration that has continued since 1993 without any interruptions. During this time, both companies have grown significantly, and Kurikka Timber has entirely phased out its sawmill operations. – Our companies have expanded together and, hopefully, we will continue along the same path, says Ernst Østefjells, NorDan’s Category Manager for Wood. Østefjells explains that they particularly appreciate that Kurikka Timber’s products represent sustainable development and good professional competence. – It has always been easy to work with Kurikka Timber, and they supply high-quality products for demanding markets. They are also flexible in finding solutions that support optimal production and delivery, Østefjells adds. https://lnkd.in/d9ufryzE #woodfromfinland #slowbynature #kurikkatimber

As an employer, we have a responsibility to take care of the well-being and safety of our employees, which is why we actively invest in the prevention and management of psychosocial stress. Our goal is to create a work environment where every employee can feel safe, valued, and motivated. In the latest measurement by the Occupational safety and Health Administration authority, the level of psychosocial stress in our workplace is 1.64. This result is excellent and gives confidence that the actions we are taking for our staff are effective. This is a good basis for moving forward. The scale is 1-5. 1 is "not stressed at all" and 5 is "very stressed".
