Yesterday, the Danish Minister for Energy, Utilities and Climate Lars Aagaard cut the ribbon for the world's first pilot project for Carbon Capture at a high-temperature incineration plant for hazardous waste (HTI). The event took place at our plant in Nyborg, Denmark. This is a milestone towards making our treatment process climate neutral from 2030. We are now ready to test Carbon Capture at the Nyborg HTI plant in the first half of 2025. The perspective for the ground-breaking pilot project is to build a full-scale plant that can capture approximately 145,000 tonnes of CO2 from our thermal treatment of the approximately 180,000 tonnes of hazardous industrial waste that we convert into district heating and electricity each year. The energy from our plant accounts for approximately 80% of the district heating for the citizens of Nyborg. By realizing our CO2 ambition, we will also contribute to a reduction of approx. 38% of Nyborg Kommune's total greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. A special thanks for your participation to Minister for Energy, Utilities and Climate Lars Aagaard, Mayor of Nyborg Kenneth Muhs and NG Group CEO Bjørn Arve Ofstad. #rethinkingrecycling #pioneeringcircularity #carbon2x #carboncapture #dkgreen. https://lnkd.in/dpcGfemh

From January 15th to 17th, Finland's Minister for Foreign Trade and Development, along with several Finnish companies, will visit Norrbotten. Sweden is a key bilateral partner for Finland in terms of trade in goods and services, as well as investment flows. The industrial transformation in northern Sweden presents valuable business opportunities. Carl Hökfelt, Head of Business Development at Fortum Recycling & Waste in Sweden, will join the visit to discuss our investments in Norrbotten. He will highlight how we are converting residual products into resources, creating a foundation for industrial expansion. Through our waste and material recycling services, we can support the green transition and industrial investments in the region. #rethinkingrecycling #wastetreatment #materialrecycling

🎉Congratulations to Sinituote and long live the Kungs snow brush, which came out as the clear winner in a comprehensive test by the renowned German magazine Auto, Motor und Sport!❄️ The main raw material in Kungs snow brushes is Circo® recycled plastic, a frost-resistant, impact-modified recycled plastic produced from post-consumer plastic waste. We have developed the material used in this highly topical product together with Sinituote, tailoring it specifically for the product. The recycled plastic material, which can withstand cold and even freezing temperatures, like never before, is a great innovation, and therefore it is pleasing to see the snowbrush being recognised for its quality. Find out how the snowbrush material was developed in the enclosed customer story and read more about the test results in Sinituote's press release, linked in the comments. 👇 #collaboration #innovation #recycledplastic https://lnkd.in/d-7Wfv5V

✨ We are excited to introduce INGA, the plastics born from CO2. ✨ 🎉 Last month we announced that, as a result of our Carbon2x programme, we had succesfully produced the first sample of the world’s first biodegradable plastic born entirely from CO₂. 🥁 Now we are taking the next step and unveiling the brand for the next generation of sustainable plastics: INGA - plastics born from CO2. “INGA means nothing or none in Swedish. The name refers to the fact that nothing new needs to be used to make the plastic. INGA plastics is aimed at environmentally conscious forerunners – companies, who want to make an impact but are not willing to compromise on the quality or aesthetics of the products they produce,” explains Tony Rehn, Carbon2X Programme Director, Fortum Recycling & Waste about the essence of the new brand. 📍 INGA plastics will be showcased at the Sustainable Materials Conference & Expo / Greener Manufacturing Conference & Expo, in Cologne, Germany, on 13–14 November. Come and join us there, or visit ingaplastics.com! 👋 Read more: https://lnkd.in/dihrBZSp
