The world’s first carbon capture pilot project at a high-temperature incineration plant for hazardous waste is launched in Nyborg, Denmark! Yesterday, the Danish Climate Minister, Lars Aagaard cut the ribbon on the world's first pilot project for Carbon Capture at a high-temperature incineration plant for hazardous waste. We are now ready to test a pilot CO2 capture plant in Nyborg, Denmark. "We will help our customers reduce CO2 emissions, achieve their recycling goals, and remain competitive. The climate ambition for the high-temperature facility in Nyborg is an important step forward", said Bjørn Arve Ofstad, CEO of NG Nordic. Together with SLB Capturi, we will demonstrate CO2 capture from high-temperature incineration of hazardous waste for the first time ever. The pilot plant will test the technology, collect data and qualify the basis for deciding on the possibilities and direction of capturing, and evaluate the potential for capturing up to 145,000 tonnes of CO2 annually in the future. #PioneeringCircularity #CarbonCapture

Did you know that at most construction sites today, plastic pipes are sorted into mixed waste streams, making material recycling difficult? However, if contractors could separate these plastic pipes, it would result in significant climate benefits. To tackle this issue, Norsk Gjenvinning has partnered with industry leaders like Skanska, NCC and AF Gruppen, and received support from the Environmental Fund (Handelens Miljøfond). Together, they’ve created an initiative to address the large volume of plastic pipes that end up as waste on construction sites. By introducing a new system to collect and recycle these pipes, they’re not only helping reduce environmental impact, but they’re also making significant strides in reducing CO2 emissions—potentially saving up to 20,000 tons annually. — Our goal is to contribute to a circular economy where everything is reused again and again. We’re excited to present this brand-new commercial solution for our clients in the construction sector. This solution shows how innovation and sustainability go hand in hand, and it’s a concrete example of how we strive to be pioneers in circular economy, says Eirik Hvamstad at Norsk Gjenvinning.
