🚜 The agricultural sector accounts for 35% of Africa's GDP and employs more Africans than any other sector. Yet, African countries spend $78 billion annually on food imports.   ⚙️ Private equity can act as a catalyst for building a more robust agro-industrial sector in Africa. It can fund innovation, help comply with recognized food norms, strengthen value chains, and better address emerging challenges like climate change.   📢 Amethis supports agro-industrial initiatives across the continent and throughout the value chain: 👉 In Mozambique, Merec Industries, SA produces yearly 320,000 tons of wheat flour, representing 40% of the country’s wheat sales.
