Building a better future means making financial education more accessible. We believe that there is a strong business case for diversity of thought in financial services and that financial education could be the key to unlock talent from diverse backgrounds. We have partnered with a range of charities such as Redstart, which aims to help 1 million young people learn about finances through games. Our newest partnership The Catalyst Education Programme aims to provide to provide economically disadvantaged and minority students with the aspiration, belief and tools to develop a career in the investment and savings industry. At the launch event, the founders and programme manager Matthew Bolton, Gavin Lewis and Andrien Meyers CC Meyers touched upon the value of diversity, and the pressing need to break the barriers to entering and accessing the investment and savings industry. Over the course of the next year, we will organise workshops aiming to help students of the cohort learn more about a career in asset management industry. #DEI #Diversity #Assetmanagment Ted Sörensen Amit Singh

COP29 has just ended, so hear from our Head of Fund Management - Impact Private Equity at AXA IM Alts, Jonathan Dean, about his key takeaways from Baku.
As the sun is setting on #COP29, here are a few messages that were prominent throughout my time in Baku: 1) The mainstream conversations are rapidly expanding beyond climate change, and are now clearly tackling the compounding issues related to biodiversity loss and the impact on health 2) There is a pivotal role for private capital to play, as well as public / private partnerships, to seize the investment opportunities and unlock the scale of capital required to address the challenges we face 3) Financing nature-based solutions is a critical tool to deliver material results against both climate and biodiversity objectives 4) Mitigation remains the priority, but increasingly effective solutions related to #Resilience and #Adaptation must also be delivered Thank you to the IFC - International Finance Corporation for inviting me to join a panel on “inaction costs us all: how the private sector can lead on climate-health nexus”. Extremely topical given the wider COP discussions, and great to share thoughts with Farid Fezoua Daniella Foster Estelle Willie, MPH and Elena Villalobos Prats It was a pleasure to re-connect with some old faces, but equally important to meet new contacts and extend our respective networks. Ultimately it will be down to those conservations and actors to deliver the actions and solutions required. Perhaps the one criticism of the COP process is that (outside of the negotiating rooms) most of the attendees are in absolute agreement; are aligned on the actions required and are energised to deliver them. The focus now must be to translate those sentiments into tangible actions and outcomes. COP29 may have only be remembered as a stepping stone to the “big one” in Brazil next year, but that does not mean we can accept stagnation and procrastination as the negotiations Baku come to a conclusion. At AXA IM Alts we have positioned #decarbonisaton as a central theme across our asset classes, and it is particularly pleasing to see how our #impactinvesting platform has been designed to offer private market solutions that directly cater for the nexus of climate; nature-based solutions and global health. There is 1 year before #COP30 in Brazil, but I leave Baku with optimism and clear expectations about what we can achieve before then. #COP29 #AXAIMAlts #Baku #NBS #NaturalCapital #globalhealth #biodiversity #climate AXA Investment Managers Carla Ricchetti
Last week, James Cox, Head of Australian Funds and Asset Management at AXA IM Alts, spoke on a panel entitled ‘PBSA (purpose-built student accommodation) investment potential’ at ‘The PBSA State of the Sector’ event hosted by the Student Accommodation Council in Melbourne, focusing on all aspects of student accommodation. This debate was an excellent opportunity to share insights on PBSA’s counter-cyclical nature, its resilience to work-from-home trends, the growing appeal as an alternative residential asset, as well as why, in the face of increasing competition from Build to Rent and stable overseas markets, Australian PBSA continues to attract investor interest. Thank you to everyone who contributed to a fantastic day of thought and interest. #AXAIMAlts #RealEstate
