Our founder, Frederic Geoffrois, recently had the privilege of joining a thought-provoking panel at the Coliving Awards in Amsterdam, where the conversation centered around how nomadism is redefining modern real estate and hospitality. Joined by forward-thinking industry leaders like Nacho Rodriguez (repeople, Canary Islands), Enric Solé (Circles House, Barcelona), and Aramburo Juan (Kiin Living, Medellin), and skillfully moderated by Anna Maria Kochanska, the panel discussed the surging demand for flexible, community-focused living spaces in today’s rapidly evolving global landscape. Here's some key insights from the discussion panel to think about: 🛄 With forecasts predicting 1 billion digital nomads by 2050, cities must start developing the infrastructure to meet the needs of this dynamic, mobile workforce. Cities willing to attract digital nomads will need to invest in coliving solutions that offer flexibility and a range of amenities tailored to this growing demographic. 🆘 An upcoming key challenge: Preventing local price inflation driven by the influx of high-spending nomads. Coliving operators will need to ensure their spaces also benefit local residents — through coworking hubs, cultural events, and economic initiatives that strengthen the surrounding community. 🔁 Lastly, digital nomads themselves must strive to integrate into local communities, fostering meaningful cultural exchanges and relationships with the neighborhoods they inhabit.
