📘 Must Read! The OECD - OCDE released a report entitled “#G20 Compendium on Data Access and Sharing Across the Public Sector and with the Private Sector for Public Interest”, which presents practical examples from G20 members on #DataSpace and #DataEcosystem initiatives, both across the public sector and between the public & private sectors in the public interest. The report dive into how the access to relevant and quality data can help governments make more informed decisions, respond more effectively to crisis, improve public services, and implement informed policies. As for the private sector, data are critical assets for governments, enabling them to become more transparent and proactive while reducing administrative burden. Moreover, when in line with the public interest, the exchange of data between the public and private sectors, as well as with academic institutions and researchers, can stimulate innovation and the growth of a data-driven economy, thereby generating new business opportunities. Additionally, the report states that “establishing a controlled and secure environment for data exchange between government and private sector actors is a priority among G20 members, to enable secure and privacy-preserving sharing of sensitive data”. The G20 Compendium on data access and sharing also explored the concept of data spaces, types of platform and environment known as well as data marketplaces, data exchange, or data hubs, that facilitate data exchange while ensuring data protection and interoperability. A rich report providing a great illustration of the growing number of data spaces being launched around the world, turning the data economy into an economy led by data. 👉Access the report https://bit.ly/3YXbx8d OCDE (2024), G20 Compendium on Data Access and Sharing Across the Public Sector and with the Private Sector for Public Interest, Éditions OCDE, Paris. #DataEcosystem #DataSpace #DataExchange #DataEconomy

📘 Key concept of #DataSpaces. Facts speak by themselves: there are a growing number of Data Spaces being created across Europe, and around the world, to foster secure, complaint and interoperable #DataEcosystems. Data Spaces Support Centre just published the Data Spaces Blueprint v1.5, introducing key concepts related to Data Spaces. - What is a Data Space? An interoperable framework, based on common governance principles, standards, practices and enabling services, that enables trusted data transactions between participants. A definition borrowed to the recently published CEN and CENELEC workshop agreement on #TrustedDataTransactions. https://lnkd.in/ebmrTyRx - Participants Distinguished in various classes: Data Provider, Data Consumer, Data Space Governance Authority, Service Provider. - Data Products Many specific things can be attached to this abstract notion of a data product, but ultimately, the exchange of a data product can be seen as a transaction between a data provider and data consumer. - Services Three classes of services: Participant Agent Services, Federation Services, Value Creation Services - Data Space Governance Frameworks In a data space, some common rules apply. A Data Space Governance Framework is needed to define and manage these rules. Further explore the latest version of the blueprint which also covers an overview on the business, governance, legal and technical building blocks, including the organizational form and governance authority & participant management. Dawex is happy to have contributed with its expertise, and congratulates all contributors for delivering this comprehensive set of guidelines to support the development of trusted data spaces. 👉Review DSSC Blueprint V1.5 https://lnkd.in/eet2aGU6 Andrea Manzi, Data Solution Manager at EGI Foundation | Arjan Stoter, scientist Data Ecosystem at TNO | Daniel Alonso Román, Senior technical Lead Big Data & AI ecosystems at BDVA - Big Data Value Association | Frédéric Bellaiche, VP Technology & Research Dawex - Data Exchange Technology | Dr. Dennis Wendland, Technical Lead and Architect at FIWARE, Penny Labropoulou, Researcher at Athenarc | Stefan Wiedemann, Technical Lead and Architect at FIWARE | Akm Rafiqul Haque at University of Galway | Christoph Lange-Bever, Head of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence department at Fraunhofer FIT | Gabriella Laatikainen, Senior Scientist at VTT | Gianluigi Riccio, Chief Data Officer at Meditech - Competence Center | Kuldar Aas, Data Governance Programme Lead Andmetarkuse võrgustik | Clara Pezuela, COO at FIWARE #DataSpace #DataEcosystem #DataExchange

📰 Just released! Dawex contributed to the latest World Economic Forum report on “Governance in the Age of Generative #AI: A 360° Approach for Resilient Policy and Regulation”. As a member of the #AIGovernanceAlliance of the World Economic Forum, Dawex took part in the works conducted by the Alliance Resilient Governance & Regulation working group, composed of 100+ members, all players from the AI value chain. The Alliance, gathering 300+ individuals, aims at creating a meaningful dialogue about emerging AI development issues and ensuring AI serves the greater good while maintaining responsibility, inclusivity, and accountability. As the report highlights, #GenAI is standing out as a transformative force, impacting various industries, economies, and societies worldwide. With the emergence of new regulation, such as the European #AIAct, this pivotal moment requires forward-thinking leadership and a cooperative strategy for proactive governance. This report is addressing the complexities of GenAI by examining existing regulatory gaps, governance challenges, and the evolving needs of this dynamic technology, advocating for a harmonized approach to GenAI governance that facilitates cooperation and interoperability. The swift advancement and widespread adoption of generative AI have urged governments to stay ahead and prepare for upcoming developments and impacts. Policymakers are exploring how generative AI can be harnessed for the public good, balancing economic and social opportunities while addressing potential risks. To achieve this purpose, the report proposes a comprehensive 360-degree governance framework, to: - Harness existing regulations and address gaps introduced by genAI - Foster whole-of-society genAI governance and cross-sector knowledge sharing - Incorporate preparedness and agility in generative AI governance and foster international cooperation #DataExchange is critical to building trusted AI, as there is no trust in AI without trust in data. Therefore the AI industry needs to rely on verified, traceable data sources to make sure that models are ethical, explainable and trustable. For example, solutions like GenAI Data Marketplace foster trustworthy and transparent AI, in the respect of IP and content value, by bringing together content and GenAI players under a secure and governed data ecosystem. Congratulations to Cathy Li, Karla Yee Amezaga, Manal Siddiqui, Samira Gazzane, Arnab Chakraborty, Mark Esposito, PhD, Rafi Lazerson, and all other contributors from the AI Governance Alliance for this great achievement! 🔍 Read the publication by the AI Governance Alliance https://lnkd.in/eK78xeRb
