Rewiring capitalism’s operating system, you too can become magnets for change. John Elkington recently mentioned his and Volans Tomorrow’s Capitalism: The 2020s Leadership Agenda, co written with Richard Roberts . Why did John resurface a 2019 statement? Because its relevance has never been stronger! "People in the corporate sustainability field have talked about the need for “systems change” for a long time now. The 2020s are going to have to be the decade when we finally learn how to do systems change." "So companies are going to have to step up to become much more active and effective agents of systems change, unless they are content simply to be passengers on a voyage captained by the ghost of Milton Friedman, which appears to be headed towards the mother of all icebergs." "How, then, does a company become an effective agent of systems change? As part of the Tomorrow’s Capitalism Inquiry, we’re working to distil the best available thinking on this question into actionable guidance for corporate leadership teams. The Inquiry is still ongoing, but what follows is a preview of our emergent conclusions." You can benefit here from John's insights and become "MAGNETS FOR CHANGE” and learn from his report how, at this link: https://lnkd.in/dJDW2aik

Reflections on the Role of Technology in Ethical and Sustainable Growth Silvia Bernardini “a proud #ebbfMember “ as she states, is one one of the still few female UNI 11814 Certified #InnovationManagers . She was recently featured as a member of the Italian National Body for Artificial Intelligence: ENTE NAZIONALE per l'INTELLIGENZA ARTIFICIALE - E.N.I.A.® Silvia firmly believes that embracing diverse perspectives is key to driving real improvement. Her approach to innovation is rooted in fostering collaboration, empowering individuals, and ensuring that technology serves humanity, not the other way around. She shares these useful tips: "As an ethical entrepreneur, I face a unique challenge and, at the same time, an unprecedented opportunity: understanding and integrating new technologies without losing sight of the values that guide my actions. Technology itself is neither inherently good nor bad—it is shaped by how I choose to use it and how effectively I make it serve people and the greater good. My journey has taught me valuable lessons. I firmly believe that innovation cannot be separated from ethics and that true progress is achieved only when people, organizations, and technology work together in harmony. It is not about fearing change but embracing it with awareness, responsibility, and a clear vision of what I aim to build: a more inclusive, sustainable, and purpose-driven society. This perspective invites me to think critically about how I can integrate emerging technologies into my projects while remaining true to my values. It challenges me to consider how I can educate and support my communities and teams so they face innovation with curiosity rather than fear. Most importantly, it encourages me to seek opportunities where technology can become a tool for inclusion and shared growth. Technology presents me with profound questions, but it also equips me with the tools to answer them. It is up to me to make the right choices. I strive to learn, share, and innovate with courage and responsibility. I am here to build a better future, and by reflecting on these ideas, I can continue to make a meaningful difference. I refuse to fear the future: I live and learn in it! “ With a rich background in languages, foreign literature, and sociology, Silvia brings a humanist perspective to the forefront of innovation. She is the founder of SKY WALKER s.r.l., a digital think tank dedicated to exploring new, ethical ways to approach training and business.

It’s official: we have reached the hottest year ever … and what can I and we do about it. We can't be wrapping up every year saying it was the hottest year ever. The average temperature in 2024 was 1.6°C above preindustrial levels. We saw the impact of this on the number of extreme weather events, and it's not going to get better if we don't operate a massive transition and the individual and collective. The good news? Today we have all the technology and information and resources at our disposal to address pretty much any local or global problem. The key differentiating factor? It is when we unite and collaborate, that we can solve pretty much anything: ✅ We found the vaccines for COVID and distributed globally in record time ✅ We solved the ozone layer crisis, globally ✅ We sent human beings to the moon with a 32k Ram computer with 1960s technology ! ✅ We recovered from the global financial meltdown of 2008 So let’s not wait for banks or for corporations or for politicians: let’s enjoy the power we have to take action at each individual and at collective level. Practical steps any of us can do now: ♻️ start a conversation about why climate change matters and what people can do ♻️ join a climate action group ♻️ consider where you keep your money and where you purchase ♻️ spark ideas for change at work & school ♻️ reduce your personal footprint AND ♻️ make your actions contagious by talking about them The most important thing an individual can do right now is to be part of and creating communities of change. Living ebbf’s values of #sustainability and #moderation
