At the Global Chamber of Business Leaders, we are keen on providing an environment - albeit remote - and culture that encourages and celebrates personal and professional growth and development. We love to see our Executives thriving in their various pursuits. Today, we turn the spotlight on Nigel Scicluna, who hails from Malta. Nigel started with us as a Co-Chair for our Global Chamber of Business Leaders - Young Business Leaders Program (YBLP) and is now a Senior Advisor. He recently graduated from the University of Malta and shared on his accomplishment: “Graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce in Management and Marketing from the University of Malta is such a milestone for myself. This is not only due to the academic theoretical journey itself (but) that this was done also during the practical, hands-on management of actively managing businesses; a balancing act that underscores the importance of effective time management and unwavering dedication. This achievement is even more meaningful given the challenges of the past few months, particularly following the loss of my father. Navigating this difficult period with an added sense of responsibility has taught me that true determination coupled with sheer resilience can turn adversity into strength, which brings me back to a quote from Roman Emperor, Marcus Aurelius, ‘You have power over your mind, not outside events. As the Global Chamber of Business Leaders (GCBL) continues its Executive Team expansion, we are seeking applications for Delegates. Hereunder are some of the countries/territories that we are seeking Delegates for: 1. Singapore 2. Thailand 3. Croatia 4. Austria 5. Barbados 6. Switzerland 7. Jamaica 8. Grenada 9. The Netherlands 10. U.S Virgin Islands Among other things, generally speaking, a Country Delegate should: ▪️Possess a strong aptitude for showing initiative and being proactive in helping the organization to achieve its goals. ▪️Be able to procure initiatives and/or projects in the interest of the GCBL or to create visibility for the GCBL. ▪️Have a wide-ranging and prominent network of business connections and associates at various levels in their respective country. The ability to have conversational English skills as a second language (if it's not your native language) is not mandatory but it would be an asset. Please be advised that there would be a screening process of candidates, followed by interviews for shortlisted prospects. We have lost someone who was one of our own. Franci Plibersek was the Owner of MIK Celje and a Member of the Global Chamber of Business Leaders (GCBL). Pliberšek was an engaging, wonderful soul whose interactions were always infused with kindness, sincerity, friendliness and compassion. His most recent interaction with our organization being mere days ago, we are left shocked and deeply saddened at the news of his passing. He was a phenomenal human being and will always be remembered fondly. On behalf of the President of the GCBL, Dejan Štancer, and the Executive Team, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Franci Pliberšek and his MIK Celje family.
