Long-time friend of Études Studio, Martine Syms is renowned for her practice, blending conceptual grit, humor, and social commentary. Through video, installation, and performance, she particularly explores representations of Blackness and feminist thought. We are thrilled to have had Martine Syms for The Kitchen + Études Studio collaboration shoot by Ulysse Lozano. Martine wears an allover shirt from capsule collection, created from a collage of artworks by Constance Dejong, Mary Overlie, and others, originally shown at The Kitchen in the 1980s-90s. Meet Matthew Lutz-Kinoy for The Kitchen + Études Studio collaboration 💫 Born in New York and living in Paris, Matthew works across various mediums including sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, painting, and performance art. In 2023, The Kitchen presented Lutz-Kinoy’s ‘’Filling Station’’ which comprised three dance performances, and an exhibition of a new series of paintings, archival materials, audiovisual elements, and ephemera by the artist. To celebrate The Kitchen + Études Studio collaboration, we are presenting the video documentation of ‘Filling Station’ at our flagship store during this Paris Art Week! Matthew is wearing t-shirt from the collaboration features the coalition of Cecilia Sandoval, Mary Lucier, Shigeko Kubota, and Charlotte Warren called Red, White, Yellow, and Black, brought to The Kitchen in 1972–73. In conjunction with the The Kitchen + Études Studio collaboration launch and to celebrate Paris Art Week, contemporary and archival documentation of The Kitchen’s works are displayed at Études Studio’s flagship store. The posters on the walls have served as inspiration points for the collection, and the videos projected in the boutique—Filling Station by Matthew Lutz-Kinoy (2023) and We Interrupt This Program by Charles Atlas (1991)—offer a glimpse of the works presented by The Kitchen . Come and discover the new installation! 📸 Ophélie Maurus #ÉtudesStudio #TheKitchenNYC

Meet Maria Hassabi for The Kitchen + Études Studio collaboration 🖤 Artist and choreographer Maria Hassabi has collaborated with The Kitchen for over 20 years. Her multidisciplinary work spans live performance, installation, sculpture, photography, and video, exploring time and the human form. Her shirt, reminiscent of a white artist's smock, nods to Yasunao Tone's History of Unheard Music and Timothy Buckley's Barn Fever, both presented at The Kitchen in the 1980s. Discover the full capsule collection : https://lnkd.in/e7B4z4St Photography by @ul.y -- Maria Hassabi first presented at The Kitchen in 2003 with her performance "Forest Near Chelsea” and has continued to be a vital part of The Kitchen's community throughout the last 20 years. #ÉtudesStudio #TheKitchenNYC

The Kitchen + Études Studio collaboration is now live ! As part of our collection No.24, we are pleased to collaborate with The Kitchen, an experimental nonprofit art center founded in 1971 in New York, to create a capsule collection for Autumn-Winter 2024. This collaboration draws on the ephemeral art of 20th-century experimental programs, revisiting iconic performances from The Kitchen’s history. Blurring past and present, it brings New York City’s avant-garde into dialogue with fashion and the present moment. The collection, photographed by Ulysse Lozano, comes to life through performers’ bodies, as well as with members of The Kitchen’s community including Maria Hassabi and Matthew Lutz-Kinoy, and long-time friend of the brand, Martine Syms. Proceeds from this collection will support artistic innovation at The Kitchen during a time of bold and decisive change for the institution. The collection is now available online, in-store, and at selected partners worldwide: https://lnkd.in/emmkKK-H Images by Ulysse Lozano #ÉtudesStudio #TheKitchenNYC

Our first Aigle Experience by Études Studio collection for AW24 is now available online and in store. Inspired by the Études Studio creative trio's trip to Japan, this collection features contemporary and functional cuts that reflect the essence of their journey. A color palette of brownie, cedar, and beige captures the spirit of autumn, while noir, slate grey, and white moon hues evoke a wintry atmosphere. High-quality technical materials, particularly Gore-Tex, ensure protection from the elements, allowing for an enjoyable outdoor experience. Since 2020, Études Studio has been designing the collections and overseeing the image of the French brand Aigle. In 2024, this collaboration evolves with ''Aigle Experience by Études Studio'', a line that breathes creative life into the brand’s collections each season. On September 30, the first presentation of Aigle Experience by Études Studio took place at the musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac during Paris Fashion Week®. In its labyrinthine gardens, models wore genderless pieces from the EXP–01 Autumn-Winter 24-25 and EXP–02 Spring-Summer 25 collections. Inspired by the travels of our creative directors to Japan and the Moroccan High Atlas, these garments and accessories are crafted for those seeking to live in harmony with nature.
