🌍 GravitHy’s 7 Propositions for the Clean Industrial Deal.   🇪🇺 Yesterday, our CEO Jose Noldin, our Chief Growth Officer Alice Vieillefosse, and our Public Policy Analyst Gwladys Le Goff were in Brussels to advocate for our proposals for the Clean Industrial Deal. They had the opportunity to meet with Kurt Vandenberghe of DG CLIMA, Pascal Canfin MEP, and Cyril Piquemal Deputy Permanent Representative of #France to the EU. These discussions allowed us to highlight the importance of aligning industrial competitiveness with Europe's decarbonization goals. We are pleased that our proposals were heard and appreciated the substantive and constructive dialogue on the future of Europe's clean industrial strategy. We extend our sincere thanks to our interlocutors for their time and valuable insights.   💚At GravitHy, we firmly believe that combining competitiveness and decarbonization of the steel industry is essential to achieve our climate goals and strengthen our industrial sovereignty. Here are our 7 key proposals for the Clean Industrial Deal led by the European Union 1️⃣ Extend the indirect CO2 cost compensation beyond 2030. Decide today to maintain this crucial mechanism for European industrial competitiveness without waiting for the revision of the EU-ETS and the CBAM.   2️⃣Reserve a share of subsidized renewable electricity production for strategic industries. Require electricity producers benefiting from public subsidies to reserve a share of their production at production cost plus margin for industries essential to the EU's decarbonization.   3️⃣Allow renewable and nuclear PPAs to qualify hydrogen production as RFNBO and low carbon. Renewable and nuclear PPAs are key in the transition, therefore should be accepted equally to qualify hydrogen production as RFNBO and low carbon.   4️⃣ Extend the scope of the EU Hydrogen Bank. Support low-carbon hydrogen production through appropriate financing mechanisms.   5️⃣ Progressive incorporation of low-carbon steel in lead markets. Establish mandatory and progressive incorporation rates for low-carbon steel in lead markets (e.g. 40% of green steel in new vehicules by 2030, 90% by 2040).   6️⃣ European certification system for the low-carbon origin of steel. Ensure traceability, transparency and accountability throughout supply chains with a European certification system.   7️⃣ Recognize high-grade iron ore and ultra-low CO2 DRI/HBI as critical materials. Ensure strategic autonomy and supply chain resilience by adding high-grade iron ore and ultra-low CO2 DRI/HBI in the Critical Raw Materials Act.   🌱💪 At #GravitHy, we are #bold in our vision, #trustworthy in our actions, and #impactful in our results.Together, we can transform the European steel industry and ensure a sustainable and competitive future.   #CleanIndustrialDeal #Decarbonization #Sustainability #GreenIndustry | Gwenaël PODESTA

🌍 GravitHy at the European Parliament Roundtable on Green Lead Markets.   🔑Today, #GravitHy, represented by our Public Affairs Manager Gwenaël PODESTA, had the honor of participating in a roundtable at the European Parliament, hosted by MEP Pascal Canfin. The discussion focused on advancing green lead markets for basic materials in the EU, as part of the Clean Industrial Deal.   Here are our key takeaways: 👉 Unified definition: Establishing a common, clear, and robust EU-wide definition of green materials, particularly green steel, is essential. 👉 Lead market candidates: The automotive sector stands out as a prime candidate for a lead market on steel, with potential in the windmill and defense industries as well. 👉 Avoiding resource shuffling: Measures must ensure that we don't just reallocate existing scrap resources but provide the necessary boost for steel decarbonization projects to reach investment decision. 👉 Competitiveness: Lead markets alone won't bridge the competitiveness gap. Reducing the price difference with conventional materials, such as through affordable electricity for electro-intensive industries, is crucial. 👉 Value chain dialogue: It's vital to establish dialogues involving all parts of the value chain in the coming months.   A big thank you to the organizers, and we look forward to continuing this important discussion!   #GreenIndustry #CleanIndustrialDeal #Sustainability __ Domien Vangenechten (E3G), Dr. Florika Fink-Hooijer (European Commission), Joan Canton, Tom van Ierland, Michael Bloss (European Parliament), Baptiste Buet (EIT InnoEnergy)

📢We are proud to co-sign this open letter shared by Cleantech for Europe. Alongside over 100 leading cleantech innovators and investors across Europe, we urge the European Commission to deliver an ambitious Clean Industrial Deal in 2025 to drive the EU’s competitive decarbonization and secure its leadership in clean technologies.   👉 Notably by a demand surge for cleantech: encouraging the adoption of state-of-the-art cleantech, establishing lead markets, integrating innovation into public procurement, and maintaining ambitious policies like the ETS and CBAM.   👉 As a pre-condition : offering affordable clean electricity prices to energy intensive industrial companies, as recommended in Mario Draghi's report   With the right policies, the Clean Industrial Deal can create a strong business case for cleantech scale-ups, transitioning industries, and a prosperous, sustainable future for all European citizens.   #Cleantech #GreenIndustry #Innovation #Sustainability #GravitHy

📨 Open letter: 100+ Cleantech Leaders Urge European Commission for Bold Action in Clean Industrial Deal 📨 Today, over 100 leading cleantech innovators and investors from across Europe come together to call on the European Commission to deliver an ambitious Clean Industrial Deal that will drive the EU’s competitive decarbonisation and secure its leadership in clean technologies.  In an open letter to President Ursula von der Leyen and Commissioners Stéphane Séjourné; Teresa Ribera and Wopke Hoekstra, Europe’s #cleantech industry outlines the urgent need for bold action in 2025 to address the perfect storm of challenges facing Europe: geopolitical instability, higher #energy costs, and mounting global #competition. The forthcoming Clean Industrial Deal must focus on sending two decisive market signals:  📈 A demand surge for cleantech: helping industries become more competitive by adopting state-of-the-art cleantech, establishing lead markets, integrating innovation into public procurement, maintaining the ambition of the ETS and CBAM, and fostering fair trade policies.  💶 Targeted public de-risking mechanisms: Expanding EU funding and guarantees to act as signal towards Europe’s €38 trillion in private capital to unlock cleantech’s full potential. Public guarantees and counter guarantees (such as those under the Wind Package) are helping to unlock private financing and working capital for cleantech manufacturing while being fiscally efficient. The EU and European Investment Bank (EIB) should prioritise creating blended finance vehicles pooling institutional investor capital on a large scale to unlock credit instruments which are critical to scaling industries.     Europe already can point to pioneering stories like Energy Dome (long duration energy storage, Italy), Stegra (green steel, Sweden), Sunfire (electrolysers, Germany), and Verkor (battery gigafactories, France)—but we need many more. With the right policies in place, the Clean Industrial Deal can create a strong business case for cleantech scale-ups, transitioning industries, and a prosperous, sustainable future for all European citizens. This is why this letter is led by cleantech initiatives across Europe: Cleantech for Iberia Tech for Net Zero Cleantech for France Cleantech for Italy Cleantech for Nordics Cleantech for Baltics This is a make-or-break moment for Europe’s industry. The EU must leverage its cleantech edge to reach industrial leadership in the next decade. 📄 Read the full open letter and join us in shaping Europe’s clean industrial future: https://lnkd.in/e_8zcV3P AFYREN Atlas Agro Baseload Capital Battolyser Systems Build to Zero Circular Carbon CAPHENIA Climeworks CorPower Ocean cylib Daze DeepDrive Ecocem Global ecoLocked Electrochaea Electra FertigHy Genvia GravitHy GreenCap Solutions AS Greenlyte Carbon Technologies Heart Aerospace Hydrogenious LOHC HyperHeat
