🎓 Last week, we had the privilege of hosting a group of MBA students from IESE Business School at our Paris headquarters for a deep dive into hummingbirds mission and the voluntary carbon market.     Led by our incredible hummingbirds, Alexandre Lépée, Business Analyst, Vitor Vannozzi Brito, Carbon Officer and Adrien Borras, Impact Analyst, we had the chance to share hummingbirds' dedication to biodiversity preservation and tackling climate change.    At hummingbirds, we firmly believe in the power of education to drive meaningful action. That’s why we’re always eager to collaborate on initiatives like this that hopefully inspire and empower the next generation of #climateleaders! 🚀     We are very happy to have hosted IESE Business School's first visit to Paris and we hope we have sparked new ideas in their efforts to contribute to a more sustainable future. A big thank you to Sofia Calderwood for the initiative and the organization! 🌱New team member in hummingbirds’ flock!     We are very happy to welcome Fernanda Teixeira Costa who has joined our team as a Financial Analyst.    👉 Fernanda is an Environmental Engineer with a double degree from the University of São Paulo and École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées, and she holds an Advanced Master in Infrastructure Project Finance from École des Ponts. She has previously worked with impact investments in infrastructure and the development of Nature-based Solutions projects.      Based in our #Paris office, Fernanda will support hummingbirds’ transversal teams with the financial aspects of our projects, including fundraising and investment processes.      Welcome to the team! 🌱

✍ New blog post!     We’re excited to share our latest blog post by Adrien Borras, our Impact Analyst at hummingbirds. The article explores why it is crucial to foster biodiversity by planting multiple tree species in afforestation and reforestation projects.      Diverse forests not only are more resilient to pests, diseases and climate change, they also store more carbon than monocultures, whilst enhancing ecosystems and supporting local wildlife. 🌳     👉 Read the full article below to learn more about why #biodiversity conservation is so important in #ARR projects. 🌳 We are thrilled to announce our new partnership with Carbioz as part of our forestry projects in France! hummingbirds launched its first operations in France last year, funding 25 afforestation and reforestation projects across a total of 205 hectares along the western side of the Hexagon. Certified by the French Label bas Carbone, these projects aim to enhance the resilience of French forests in the face of climate change.  🌍 Among their many ecological benefits, they are projected to sequester over 42,000 tCO2e over the next 30 years. 🌱New hummingbirds members on-board!    We are very happy to welcome Eva Lecomte in our Paris office and Esther Wachira in our Nairobi office - both for a 6-month internship!     👉 Eva is currently a pursuing a Master of International Business and Sustainability at Sciences Po. She has work experience in relation to renewable project certification and ESG research, with a particular emphasis on biodiversity indicators.    Eva will support hummingbirds’ transversal teams, working on financial topics, as well as environmental and social impact analysis.     👉 Esther is currently finishing a master’s degree in environmental studies at the Karatina University. As part of her master's thesis, she notably delved into Kenyan REDD+ projects, enabling her to gain a fine understanding of the cogs of carbon certification processes.    Esther will support our Nairobi team for project identification and design in Eastern Africa, focusing on our improved cookstoves projects currently under-development.     Welcome to the team!
