Sorbonne University has been participating in the iGEM competition since 2016. 2024 - Morpheus - transforming PET microplastics into Vanillic Acid by integrating a fusion protein system into Chlamydomonas reinhardtii in order to phytoremediate polluted waters. 2023 - PseudoDetox - addition of rhamnolipid and sophorilipid pathways to Pseudomonas putida to maximize PAH degradation in order to bioremediate polluted soils. 2022 - NAWI (New Algae for World Improvement) - increase iron contents of Chlamydomonas reinhardtii to fight against malnutrition.
